The story ? A Good Man Is Hard To Find? takes place around some back roads that are in the south. The family lives in Atlanta, and is traveling through Georgia to get to Florida to meet some of their family members. While on their way there, they stopped by a place called The Tower for some barbeque sandwiches and something to drink. After finishing their lunch they went on a detour down a dirt road that their grandmother was talking about that had a secret door trap that they was going to try to look for. When they was trying to look for this secret, all the kids were excited and being
loud because they was suspicious of what it could be and the husband turned around and told them to be quiet and he had ran off the road, over correcting the car and the car flipped twice making the grandmother get hurt. After sitting on the side of the road for hours a car approached them, they stood up waving their hands trying to get there attention, the car stopped and three guys got out of it with guns. During the story the atmosphere would be the mood, the mood is about Flannery O'Connor?s characters can sometimes be violent and harsh and her uncluttered method of storytelling does nothing to soften them. She paints them quickly but vividly and leaves them there on the page for us to encounter and judge. When they had the car accident the kids got scared and screamed in delight and that is one thing that made the mood zoom off of the chart.
