“Shells” by Cynthia Rylant is a Realistic fiction about a boy who lost his parents 6 months ago and now is living with an aunt who he dose not know at all he struggles with getting back on his feet.In the beginning Micheal is yelling at his aunt about how much he hates it living with her. How much he it living with her, how much he doesn't not care what she dose or what she wears.because his parents die 6 months ago and she doesn't realize how hurt Michael is.Soon, Michael Aunt is being to realiz how hurt Michael.One day michael came home with a hermit crab and his anunt let hime keep it it because she realize how hurt michael is without any frineds or his parnets.In the end, Micheal and his aunt start to grow closer.like …show more content…
Michael and his Aunt got into a big fight about how michael hates her and doesn't care care about her.For example in paragraph 1-11 michael and aunt Esther get into a big fight because his aunt was accused him of hating her and not liking his new life. living with her but she doesn't realize how hurt he is by not having his parents there to help him or be there for him when he need it. “you refuse to be happy and you punish me ever day for it” “punish you I don't punish i don’t care about you! i don’t care what you do or what you think or how you dress. “can’t you just leave me alone” This proves that michael is really hurting and his aunt does not see it michael is struggling to adjust to this life.
One way Michael is struggling to adjust to his new life without his parents.For example in paragraph 16 Michael accepts to see his parents there when he gets home from school. Or there late at night when he gets out of the shower waiting for the bathroom.the author also said that “sometimes he was so sure one of them was somewhere around him that the thought maybe he was going crazy. His heart hurt him. he wondered if he would ever get better. This proves that Michael is truly hurt and it will take some time for MIchael to feel better and make some
