A Novel Approach To Cultural Diversity

After viewing the activities on Cultural Diversity, the two programs I chose to discuss are One Mississippi: Creating a Dialog on Campus and A Novel Approach to Talking about Diversity. I chose these two programs because they directly challenged the participants on a more personal level. The people involved in these programs had to talk to each other one on one. They also had the added protection of being in a group setting. Unlike some of the other programs, where the participants made street signs or marched to support victims of racism or stand up against abhorrent behavior after a transgender teen was attacked. All those programs did an excellent job of bringing issues of racism and intolerance to the forefront of the community’s psyche.
