A Rhetorical Analysis Of Donald Trump's Speech
The road to the white house
In this text I will write analysis on Donald trump’s speech. The text will specifically concern about rhetorical devices which were used by Donald trump on his victory speech on November 9th. But first I think it will be great if we start with a little but important information which has got something to do with trump.
In my opinion Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election is all due to the statements which Trump made during his election campaign. The president-elect had made statements against African Americans, Latinos, Mexicans and Muslims. However, now that he’s been elected, he will be everyone’s president and he will govern according to law. It’s necessary to differentiate between Trump during the election campaign and Trump after being elected president. The road to the White House has a lot of turns which obligate one to adapt to successfully achieve goals.
Now, Donald trump is an orator. He uses every possible ways to manipulate the audience that he gives speech to. As mentioned above he always comes up with statements which are against a specific groups but supported by

He started with tremendous, impressive and passionate thank for Hilary Clinton which creates and increases the trust he has .Donald trump directly starts his speech unusually with a magnificent sentence which he has never dare to say before he won the election ” I’ve just received a call from Secretary Clinton.” Following the entrance he admires “She congratulated us — it’s about us — on our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign. I mean, she — she fought very hard.” This is the part where he creates an atmosphere which makes the opponents that he is a good president for all. To sum up he is creating an

On June 16th at his very own Trump Tower in New York City, Donald Trump announced that he would be running for president. It was only thirty seconds into his speech when Trump committed his first fallacy. In an attempt to insult the intelligence of his fellow GOP candidates, he compared their incompetence toward air conditioners to their supposed inability to beat ISIS. “They didn’t know the air-conditioner didn’t work,” “How are they going to beat ISIS?” This is a bad example fallacy due to his use of an example that fails to prove the conclusion and has little connection to it. Despite the complete lack of relation between Trump’s example and his conclusion, he was still able to provoke the audience into feelings of contempt toward the other…

Pathos one of the three modes of persuasion in rhetoric which is used to persuade an audience by appealing to a crowds emotions. Emotional appeal can be met in a series of ways such as through symbolism, humor, storytelling and constant references such as to undocumented Mexicans as Presidential Candidate Donald Trump has done over and over. Now this man is smart he is appealing to every emotion we have anger, frustration, pride you name it. Trump references constantly to the undocumented immigrants for the stack of America’s problems, like violence and economy troubles. Trump uses his ethos to discredit all undocumented workers by stating false accusations like categorizing illegal immigrants as violent, rapists, harm for the economy or job…

In the politically motivated masterpiece Constructing the Political Spectacle, political scientist Murray Edelman argues that, politicians play with ambiguous language and false constructs to manipulate public ideology on current events. The author illustrates that by doing so, politicians can sway public opinion on matters that align with the goals of politicians. This analysis illustrates how President Trump utilized the elements of Edelman’s political spectacle in the 2018 State of the Union Address. This analysis identifies how President Trump constructs problems and enemies from within our country by illustrating how he plays on the opposing viewpoints of liberals and conservatives. By focusing on polarizing issues such as immigration,…

In“Trump’s Bluster Is Heard Around the World,” an article published on Yahoo! Politics by Gregory Katz, sarcastic tone and vivid descriptions portray Donald Trump as a selfish human being to manipulate readers he will not be a good president. Katz’s sarcastic and criticizing tone adds to the negative view of Trump presented in this article;“His is clearly a recognized name worldwide, which is not to say it's a beloved one.” Katz then proves this point by quoting individuals from around the world. In the first description of Trump, a woman who lives next to a Trump resort calls Trump a spoiled “strange fish.” She then describes his toddler-like tantrums, causing an image of diaper wearing Trump whining and flopping for what he wants to pop into our heads. Katz’s next proof is a video of Mexican comedians dressed as Donald Trump performing an act written from his statements. The comedians are all wearing fake guts, Neanderthal clothing, and blonde wigs. Katz writes, “It's striking how many people know of him at all,” as if Trump is some new American celebrity who is just now getting attention for his statements. It is almost impossible to not recognize the Trump name. His name is on everything he owns, and he owns buildings, programs, and boats worldwide. Trump had been known by the world way before he decided to run for president. To end the article and finish his characterization of Trump, Katz writes,“That would be one side of Trump that few if any have seen — one who says ‘sorry’.” Like Buzzfeed and Alphacat, Katz includes mockery of Trump so viewers will chuckle at their possible leader. This humor alongside Katz’s sarcastic and condescending tone alarm readers that Trump is well known, not well…

United States foreign policy in central and east Africa has remained relatively consisted since the 1990s. The Clinton, Bush and Obama administration worked with, as President Bill Clinton labelled ‘new generation’ of African leaders to help bring stability and Western oriented market-focused economic development policies. Western assistance composed on the premise of foreign aid for social development of schools, healthcare facilities and progression in human rights. Donald Trump has problems with connecting with several groups of people. His public image is tainted for his bigotry, inciting violence at his rallies, lack of respect for Women, (comments made about Megyn Kelly), Mexicans who he called rapists and Muslims who he wants to deport. Trump took the Presidential race by a storm instantly gaining supporters from across the nation. However, his strategy was like no other presidential candidate in history. Fearless and bold, President Trump fueled the racism and sexism of America becoming the talk of every community. Yet, some despised him hypocrisy, much more rejoiced his authenticity. He was not a politician nor did he spend decades working in Washington, but he a blatantly honest billionaire who had conquered the business world. Unfortunate for Trump, since his term began in January, he has finally realized that he needs actual political knowledge to govern the nation, a thought that had never crossed his mind. Due to his lack of common sense and education, Trump has unraveled…

For my tenth journal I’m writing about Donald Trump. One of his logos is he doesn’t want the baby to be aborted last week before his/her birth. Also his logos is that he wants strong borders, no amnesty and to get rid of the bad people. As well as,his logos regosinate Nafta or cancel Nafta and create a new trade deal. His ethos is questionable when nine women said that they have been touched by Donald. But, he says he doesn’t even know them and that Hillary sent these women to make him look bad. But nine women isn’t a small number to be considered lying. It’s nine women, not one or two to call them liars. It’s more than enough to believe them.…

He tends to mostly mention “crooked Hillary” and speak about the illegals that are in America. Although, he does have the great ability of persuading people into agreeing with him, as he has done so throughout the entire election. He tends to dodge many questions that bring up him disrespecting women, and instead, he would end up mentioning ISIS which would grasp more votes because it would send fear to the American citizens and bring to the attention that America is on the brink of extinction. In this way he is very smart, but so was Hitler, who used the same tactics. At the same time, Hillary’s communication mostly consists of her getting to the point quickly in most issues. She proves that she knows much more about politics and a more broad variety of problems America faces, instead of relying on just ISIS and defeating them. However, she sometimes uses parts of her speaking time to only discuss how incorrect Trump is in his previous statement instead of the topic of…
