A Summary Of Elizabeth Smart
Nine months of rape and torture but one thing kept her alive. Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped out of her bedroom at night. She was kidnapped for nine months before she was found, but while she was there she was raped everyday. Elizabeth Smart was brave and strong throughout her kidnapping because of how she dealt with it, before she was kidnapped, when she was taken, and finally when she got home.
Louis Smart was just trying to help out her husband, she never knew it was going to affect her daughters life. Elizabeth Smart’s mother Lois hired Mitchell David Brian to help out Elizabeth's dad on the roof for 5 hours a day and for 7 months. So because of that she just let him do it she was not going to fight back because she was so afraid. While they in Utah at the mountain campsite for 2 months she heard her Uncle calling her name but she couldn't answer (Cannon, 2003). A variety of people from Salt Lake City have joined a search team to look for Elizabeth (Haberman & Mac 2003). The whole down was really sad to see what happen and really wanted to help out Elizabeth's family in finding their kid. The police are starting to get suspects and on June 9 they did a lie detector on Elizabeth’s dad just to rule out he was not a suspect (Tresniowski, & Free 2002). The police already was pretty sure it wasn't the family but they still had to rule out everyone. So then the police thought about how the Smart's house was up for sale and people go through the house so, police started questioning people because they know what the house looks like and how to get in (Tresniowski, & Free 2002). The police had to make sure they question everyone extremely good because there is not much evidence or anything for them to go
