Picasso's painting "Guernica" remains a very unique artistic piece differing from other forms of art in its time period, such as photography and paintings, that related to the scenes of war. Photos are able to show views a of what was transpiring in that exact moment, but in that moment there always exists an invisible wall that creates a barrier between viewers and the photo. The difference from painting and photos is that the latter allows the view to interact with the emotions that are trying to be conveyed by the artist.

1937 about a month prior to the completion of the final piece.
The mural by the of Guernica is unique to the standards of Picasso because it not in the norm for him to gain influence for his works from the outside world. Many concur the reason why this piece was an exception to this standard was that Picasso wanted his views
