families with movies, each with their own theme and style. Even after death, he is considered a great man for three reasons: he entertained families with his theme parks, in his movies, and the life lessons in those movies. There are two common places that Walt Disney is famous for that brings families happiness, Disneyland and Disney World.
If you were to ask children where they would want to visit anywhere in the world, 90% would say either Disneyland or Disney World. The reason they would say these places is because they offer the greatest experience that a child and family can have. There are many things to explore at these parks such as amusement rides, getting to meet your favorite cartoon characters, and who doesn’t like “It’s a Small World”? As the years progresses, new cartoons and movies are created, and the parks update themselves which makes the trip just as exciting as it was 50 years ago. Other than having to wait in line, I bet a parent can say that Disneyland and Disney World is the best thing their children has ever been through. I can remember, ten years ago, when I went to Disneyland in California, and to this day I can recall how great it was and how happy I was being there. Although, Disney parks aren’t the only thing that made my …show more content…
childhood. Not only did Walt Disney entertain children and families with his amusement parks, he also made people happy with the films he produced.
If I were to ask every person in the school what movies they grew up watching, I bet 99.99% of them will include a film that was created or produced by Walt Disney. Even though he passed away 48 years ago, he still made many memorable films in his lifetime like Mickey Mouse, Marry Poppins, Bambi, and Fantasia. What truly is amazing is that some of the movies that we have seen were made about 100 years ago, and yet it’s a family tradition to watch them, it doesn’t matter which household you’re in. In today’s generation of Disney Movies, like Brave, Princess and the Frog, Planes, and my personal favorite, Frozen, they still keep the traditions as if Walt Disney created them himself. To this day there have been approx. 300-350 films by Disney, so you can say that it’s very common in any age you live in from 1920 to today. Although, it’s not just princesses, talking animals, and women flying with umbrellas, there are meanings behind each
film. Even though cartoons and movies are entertaining, Walt Disney managed to teach positive life lessons behind each and everyone one of them. One recent documentary film called, “Saving Mr. Banks”, talks about Walt Disney trying to get the rights to film Mary Poppins. As it turns out the film is based on a true story, about a daughter and her alcoholic father. Walt Disney wanted to use her story in the film, and one of his purposes was to honor her father in the best way possible. In both films, it tells us to love our parents no matter what they do or how they are, because in the end they love you back. In Dumbo, it teaches us to not let others judge or to bring us down, but to encourage ourselves with what we have, because we are all unique in our own way. In the Jungle Book, it teaches us that it’s okay to be different in our own ways and to explore what’s out there in the world. The list can go on and on, and with every adorable, spectacular, and entertaining film, there’s always a deeper meaning to them. Thanks to Walt Disney and his parks, movies, and life lessons in those movies, he has helped shape many people how they are today. His amusement parks can be the biggest memory for a child to experience time and time again. In his films, he will always find different ways to spark everyone’s imagination. Then lastly, he has taught us in many ways imaginable, but not directly to us, but in his films. As Walt Disney once said, “I hope we don’t sight of one thing- that it all started with a mouse.”
