I hoped to gain a better knowledge of my least favorite subject to better prepare me for college and was not disappointed. It was the hardest class I’ve ever taken. I stayed awake late week nights to study. I was making Cs on tests for the first time, and I became discouraged at times. When I realized that I would not ‘get by’’ without a better study method, I forced myself to develop a more vigorous work ethic. It was miserable yet wonderful because in the long run I learned just how much I could achieve through determination.
Outside of school, during my free time, I make learning enjoyable through my conscious effort to research and study topics that I enjoy. In doing this, I reconnect learning and enjoyment, thus helping me perform better in school. My recreational research allows me to spend my free time productively and allows me to exercise my memory and comprehension in a positive light.
Furthermore, the importance of education has pushed me to willingly study often and seek outside help when needed. Recently, my AP Physics class met on a Saturday morning to help each other study for an upcoming test. Explaining and helping others understand a topic not only strengthens your own knowledge of the subject, but makes a positive impact on someone else’s educational
