At the request to describe something new that I have learned about APA style, I must laugh. The first eight weeks of this semester I took the Cornerstone Seminar which is an introductory class to college writing, this was the first real college course I have taken in eleven years and it has been approximately fifteen years since I have taken an English or a writing course. Unfortunately, I retained minimal knowledge from the previous decade about academic writing, so basically I have newly learned the entire process (to the best of my ability, of course). Answer four of the following seven essay questions. Essay answers should be in paragraph form using complete sentences. (No bullet points) Use APA style for citations as needed. Exams may be subject to student submission using Turnitin at the professor 's discretion. Your answers should be submitted as a Word file attached to an email sent to me by the start of class on March 5th. While brevity is the soul of wit, essay answers should err on the side of completeness versus brevity. That said, I don 't want to see the answer to any question go beyond two single-spaced typewritten pages using a font size of 10-12 points.…

¶The internet crosses borders and allows global participation (Singh, Zhao, & Hu, 2005). Through the internet and corporate websites, global access is available to companies of all sizes, providing the ability to communicate easily across time zones (Javalgi, Radulovich, Pendleton, & Scherer, 2005). While some website standardization is acceptable, content modification for country and cultural differences maximizes communication effectiveness, increasing the ease of using the site (Singh et al.). However, the company must still strive for organization and product consistency of…

I am no professional at writing by any means, but I can get my thoughts and point across. I feel that two challenges that I will encounter while using the APA style would be plagiarism and writing style and format. I have noticed in the past when I was in college I tend to ramble a bit throughout my papers. I understand at this level more will be required of me and my out of my papers. Second, when it comes to plagiarism I understand it is crucial not to ever use anyones words other than your own at any point. Brushing up on my power phrasing skills is on the to do list. This way my words are clear and never misleading.…

In the column “The Ethicist” by Randy Cohen, he received a question from a reader. It demonstrated how parents are concerned about teachers exchanging donations, from students, for a grade. They believe that this action defeats the purpose and value of charities and donations. Students can easily set expectations for receiving a reward after achieving a considerate act. However this exchanging process is able to inspire students to take generous actions in their future. The exchange can give a student an opportunity to gain many benefits if they decide to participate. This is encouraging students to gain knowledge on life and on the academic experience. This trade allows students to become aware and acknowledge that there are organizations and charities to help out others.…

One of my more enriching experiences occurred during my freshman year of high school. For years, I strove for straight A's, and for years I received them. Over time I constructed a mentality, and underlying self-confidence that I would receive an A no matter what. Due to my over-confidence, I was under the impression that I would not have to put forth much effort; however, near the conclusion of the second semester, I had a B in Pre-AP English 9. Despite my last push to earn a 90% in the class with the concluding assignments of the semester, my grade was finalized lower than I had wished for. It felt as if a five pound ball of lead materialized in the pit of my stomach. This experience, at first, devastated me to the fullest extent, and I…
