Scenario
A 30-year-old male present to the family clinic presenting with a C/O of abdominal pain. The abdominal pain is generalized with a dull pain, non-radiating. She has burning sensation in epigastric area, acid reflex, and her stomach rumble loudly. She buys OTC tums that is no longer working, denies nausea or vomiting. Refuse to eat because of the heartburn.
PMH: Patient reports a history of gastritis, seasonal allergy, no surgical history. Patient lives with her boyfriend and no children, works at dental office. Generalizes tenderness in abdomen region, no guarding or rebound noted.
Plan: The treatment involves possible Gastritis/ GERD. Test to r/o H. Pylori.
Drug Treatment: H2 Receptor Anagonists- Ranitidine (Zantac)
