Abortion: Pregnancy and Patricia Bauer
The “Debate” When women get pregnant and don’t want the baby, most people think about abortion as their first choice and don’t even think about the unborn fetus. Every baby deserves to live, with or without the biological parents. Abortion happens everywhere throughout the world. Unsafe abortions result in 70,000 maternal deaths and 5 million hospital admissions per year. Patricia Bauer writes to the world. She wants to let everyone out there that they’re not alone and she understands what is it like to care for a special ed child and still wake up every morning and thank God for a healthy child whom they can give love and affection to. Mrs. Bauer states that abortion is becoming invisible to the world and don’t hesitate to think about what we’re doing. Her daughter Margaret is her world and wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world. She is a blessing with big blue eyes! She absolutely loves being around her. Mrs. Bauer has gotten used to people staring at her daughter and herself and start to think curious thoughts but still doesn’t care and loves every part of her. They live a normal life with a little bit of adventure. When Mrs. Bauer states that abortion is still out there but we seem to not care for anymore. She still believes that there is hope to overcome something she could do. By Mrs. Bauer giving examples of her going out in public and walking alongside her daughter and treating her normal shows her audience a logos perspective and claiming that she loves her daughter and wouldn’t trade anything about her for the world. Patricia also discusses that because of the disease, Down syndrome, some studies show 80-90% of pregnancies can be termined while pregnant. Overall the attitude toward the article seems very rude and harsh, I can completely understand why she seems this way throughout her entire article. This attitude helps her readers get the point and feel what her emotions are. If most of the people were to raise a child like Mrs.
