Banning Partial-Birth Abortion
“On the sixth day God made man . . . He made man in his own image,” (Bible, Genesis 1:27). God created everything including life, and throwing away life is a waste of God’s creation. Abortion is throwing away a perfectly good life that never had a chance to live and experience things. Abortion is a method that ends a pregnancy and results in the death and intact removal of a fetus from the uterus (Dugan, 7). This is very wrong for many reasons. Banning partial-birth abortion is important because it harms the mother, it is murder, and the fetus is already fully developed. Many people who have an abortion come to find out it harms them. Many women who have an abortion go back for a second one (Shaw, 1). Harm comes in a variety of forms …show more content…
Many women or people in general do not care about the fetus. “Fewer are still so foolish as to believe the claim that having an abortion is no worse than having a tooth pulled” (Reardon, 1). There are many ways to kill an unborn child, and many are wrong and unreasonable. However, many people feel there is no other option for them. One way to kill an unborn child is to give the mother a specific pill, so the fetus now will no longer receive food, fluids, or oxygen. Henceforth, the child will die. A second way to kill an unborn child is by using a suction tube. The tube is used to pull the fetus’s body out in pieces. Three, through the dilation and evacuation process, the abortionist takes two limbs and twists and pulls the pieces from the body. This takes place until the head is left, in which the abortionist crushes. Another process is a very unreasonable and painful murder. A pill is given to the mother, in which chemicals are released, and the baby burns for 15 minutes. So, imagine standing in a fire for 15 minutes until death, having done nothing to deserve it and having no say in the situation. On average, 1.1 million abortions are performed each year. 1.1 useful lives were destroyed because the mother did not either care about the child or could not support

Abortion can be considered as murder, as the baby has a heartbeat and is a living creature. “At conception, we have a human organism, a human being. We do not have a baboon organism or a chimpanzee organism or an elephant organism” (Pasquini 5). This is killing an innocent living human without it having committed any crime. The idea of legalizing a process in which a baby has to pay for the mother’s mistake or be punished for simply being alive is one that is hard to fit into the mind of many. The baby shouldn’t be the one to be blamed for irresponsibility. Normally when a human life is taken from them, severe punishment is enforced and the result can even be death of the person who committed the murder. Abortion should be no different because the baby is as much as a human as anyone else on…

When women get pregnant and don’t want the baby, most people think about abortion as their first choice and don’t even think about the unborn fetus. Every baby deserves to live, with or without the biological parents. Abortion happens everywhere throughout the world. Unsafe abortions result in 70,000 maternal deaths and 5 million hospital admissions per year.…

Abortion goes against any idea of the sanctity of human ways. It ends up taking away an innocent child’s life; someone that never got the chance to experience the beautiful ways of the world. No civilized society permits one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, and abortion is no different.…

Everyday, innocent, harmless fetuses that could soon be laughing children are being brutally destroyed. One form of abortion is to cut the fetus into pieces with serrated forceps before being removed, piece by piece from the uterus by suction with a vacuum aspirator. Another form consists of bringing the fetus feet first into the birth canal, puncturing its skull with a sharp instrument and sucking out the brain tissue. The body parts, such as the head, are given letters, rather than refer to the parts as what they are. In my opinion this is for the doctors who cannot face the reality of what they are doing. The remains of the fetus or embryo, as the case may be, are put into everyday, plastic buckets and then sent to a dumpster where these precious bones and limbs are disposed. However, how and when an abortion takes place are matters of little importance to pro- abortionists and other defenders. Even former abortion practitioners from varying backgrounds and religions have a new view on abortion. These changes of heart were caused by psychological, religious and scientific reasons. One doctor, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, performed 60,000 abortions and supervised 10,000, before scientific evidence and the use of an ultrasound, convinced him he was promoting and participating what he now calls "the most atrocious holocaust in the history of the United States." Other doctors refuse to perform legal abortions, saying they should save lives rather than destroy…

1.21 million women get abortions in the US each year (BMC Women’s Health). Many factors contribute to this, including timing, health of mother and/or fetus, and the ability to provide a quality life. Abortion procedures will be performed differently, depending on the duration of the pregnancy. Further complications could also lead to a different type of procedure being performed. Abortion, in America, was not a legal practice until 1973, in the ‘Roe v. Wade’ case (Abortion Wars). The abortion process is very complex, with many details and sides, and women should have the right to it, and their life.…

    Issue Proposal on Abortion

As a catholic-born child, I was brought up with very strict rules laid out before me that would help me with choices such as the holy sacrament of confirmation and marriage to the very controversial choice of abortion. Since I’ve been Catholic all of my life, I am a firm believer in the pro-life choice, which is advocating full legal protection of embryos and fetuses along with high opposition to the legalization of induced abortions. A baby is a baby is a baby. Whether it is an embryo, fetus, or almost a full term baby, it is still considered life. That is how I like to view this topic. This semester I plan to research why abortion is morally wrong and should be illegal. Although I feel this way, I also want to establish that there are a few exceptions in my book that would be considered lawful if a woman was considering aborting a life. Exceptions such as saving a woman when she is in danger or when she is a victim of rape or incest should be considered and ultimately allowed because in order to keep evolution going, a woman must be alive. In some cases, doctors believe that removing the fallopian tubes or performing a hysterectomy, knowing the embryo or fetus will die, is justifiable because otherwise, she would be certain to die. Since there are laws that separate church and state, I cannot and will not base my reasons solely on my religion. Moreover, I will dig deep and find facts on more reasons and examples as to why abortions are morally wrong and should be illegal.…

Abortion is never an easy decision, in fact its one of America's most controversial issues in today's reality, but women have none the less been making that choice for thousands of years. Studies show that about 43% of American women will have one or more abortions during their lifetime, and women's centers and hospitals perform more than a million abortions on an annual basis. Women have many reasons for not wanting to be pregnant including age, marital status, economic status, and the circumstances of their pregnancy, and thus seek out an abortion. Although many citizens view abortion as an immoral act of brutality and strongly contest its usage, others believe the choice belongs solely to the mother and the mother alone.…

What is this world coming to? Some people truly believe it is right to kill an innocent fetus. Mothers’ who are old enough to conceive are old enough to support a baby, whether they are barely a teenager or coming to the end of their “golden years.” Regardless of the circumstance, a baby should never be aborted.…

Although less than one percent of abortions happen due to rape or incest, forty percent of unintended pregnancies end in abortion, but twenty one percent of all pregnancies end in abortions. Abortions happen for many different reasons such as inadequate finances, they are not ready for responsibility, their life may change too much, they might have problems with relationships, or they may be too young or immature, so these really need to be taken into consideration when hearing that a woman had an abortion. With that in mind, people do not understand why a woman has an abortion, but they should definitely find out the reason and understand where she is coming from. Even though some mothers have given an explanation as to why they have had the abortion, most people could say that the child never had a chance to live their life and people get scared by the process of abortion. “Your cervix (womb entrance) will be dilated (widened) to make accessing your womb easier. A tablet may be placed inside your vagina a few hours before the abortion to soften your cervix and make it easier to open. Sometimes, an alternative ‘preparing’ tablet is given by mouth. A small, plastic suction tube connected to a pump will then be inserted into your womb and used to remove the fetus,” The sound of this procedure does…

“Out of the 42 million abortions yearly, about 68,000 women will die of unsafe abortions and 5 million will suffer with health complications”(medreviews.com). Why would you take your baby’s life and risk yours as well? Many abortions have the mother doing actions like drinking bleach or inserting things inside her body to kill the baby. While this solves the mother’s problem, it also risks her life by causing poisoning or internal bleeding. “The main causes of death from unsafe abortions are hemorrhage, infection, sepsis, and genital trauma”(medreviews.com).…

    Why Abortion Is Wrong

Abortion violates the Bible and God himself. The King James Version Bible states “ Thou shalt not kill” in Exodus 20:13. Abortion is the same thing as killing. Genesis 2:7 says “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Proverbs 6:16-17 says that God hates those who shed innocent blood. Abortion is the act of shedding innocent blood. Deuteronomy 27:25 says, "Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen." It also goes against the Golden Rule, “Therefore all things whatsoever…
