God told Abram to leave his home and family and in return God changed his name to Abraham, gave him His blessing and promised him he would become a great nation. Many years passed and as he grew old Abraham and his wife Sarai who was renamed Sarah worried they wouldn’t have children, so Sarah gave Abraham permission to sleep with her maidservant Hagar who soon gave birth to a son Ishmael who is believed to be the ancestor of the Arabs. It is believed that in their old age God told the two they would

Muhammad was said to have received revelations or secrets from God, who Muhammad refers to as Allah in Islam, and Muhammad and Allah were recorded in the Qur’an. The Qur’an is basically the Bible of the Islamic religion. Abraham had an illegitimate son by an Egyptian slave named Hagar. The son was named Ishmael. Abraham took Ishmael to Mecca to protect him from the jealousy of his wife. Genesis 25 is primarily written in prose, but God’s words to Rebekah in poetic form about her pregnancy emphasize the importance of what He is saying to her and the fate of her sons. The poem reads, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples born of you shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the elder shall serve the younger” (Gen. 25:23). God has foretold that the two brothers will have numerous descendants that are able to form two nations, but he does not explain why they will be in conflict. As is common in the Bible, the younger son achieves superiority over his elder brother. There is an odd choice of words in this poem though. By saying that Esau will “serve” Jacob it implies that he will forever be in his shadow, however they are separated for many years and Esau was never submissive toward Jacob. Nonetheless, God’s words to her about her sons could explain why Rebekah favored Jacob and why she helped him deceive Isaac. The favoritism Jacob and Esau’s parents show also has a great significance on how their lives will transpire.…

Rebekah overheard this conversation. It is suggested that she realized prophetically that Isaac's blessings would go to Jacob, since she was told before the twins' birth that the older son would serve the younger.[11] She quickly ordered Jacob to bring her two kid goats from their flock so that he could take Esau's place in serving Isaac and receiving his blessing. Jacob protested that his father would recognize their deception since Esau was hairy and he himself was smooth-skinned. He feared his father would curse him as soon as he felt him, but Rebekah offered to take the curse herself, then insisted that Jacob obey her. Jacob did as his mother instructed and, when he returned with the kids, Rebekah made the savory meat that Isaac loved. Before she sent Jacob to his father, she dressed him in Esau's garments and laid goatskins on his arms and neck to simulate hairy skin.…

Compare the experience of Abraham’s relationship with his family/father and conversion to what later became Judaism to the account of Mohammed’s relationship with his father/Clutre and induction into Islam. Answer Abraham was portrayed to be a person who detests the worshiping of idols in both Quran and the Judaism religion, despite the fact that his father was a great worshiper of idols. Abraham’s father did all he could to influence his son to worship idols who could neither see or hear, but right from his tender age he has been questioning his father on his religion .He questioned his father on the religion. With every test and story, Abraham wrestled and challenged God by asking questions. For instance, Abraham had a son with Hagar after long awaiting on the promise child of God with Sarah, illustrating that even Abraham doubted God’s extraordinary promises. However, in the end Abraham wholeheartedly trusted God and God’s plans for his life, a special relationship that continues in present day Judaism. Abraham’s embodiment of the virtue of obedience was practiced in word and deed, being an example for other believers to be a hearer and doer of the Judaism faith. As seen in this story, piety to God leads to obedience. His obedience was his function of his piety, meaning Abraham was dutiful because he was devout and .faithful. This suggest that the Judaism faith has an element of causality, which is summarized in the Judaism retribution theology that God will reward those who follow his commands and punishes those who disobey them as seen in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.. Due to his unwavering faith to do as God commanded him, God did as promised: made him the father of a great people, gave him numerous descendants/ land, and a relationship with Him (…
