president that showed emotion and was not afraid to tell the north or the south that he was scared that they could lose the war. Obviously, he was a great president; the question is why his death was the turning point for the great nation called America? First of all, Why?
Why was he the one to be killed? Abraham Lincoln was an outspoken man that would do anything for equal rights. The turning point of his death would be the racism it still goes on to this day. Some people treat African American’s different than Caucasians or even Asians. Abraham Lincoln had freed the slaves by winning the Civil War and after his death the slaves were afraid that they would have to go back into slavery. Racism is the real issue that America has today it doesn’t matter if you are nice or not people can be picked on just for the color of their skin. There was a huge ordeal with racism not too long ago and the races decided to make a big deal out of it. The turning point isn’t about the fact that people are killing people. The turning point is explaining what happens after all of it is over. The slaves felt like they were nothing but maids and workers and that is what they were most of the time. The slaves were people too not just maids and workers. The fear that was in them is the fear that people have every day. For example not being able to pay all the bills and have food on the table for the kids. Most would say that the slaves should not have been afraid to go back into slavery. Clearly they were because they didn’t know what the next president was going to
do. Second of all, after Lincoln’s death it was the largest man hunt ever. How the turning point begins is when the president was assassinated. He had no control that he was going to die but he did. When Abraham Lincoln died it became the largest man hunt there ever was. Everyone was looking for his killer (John Wilkes Booth). In most of the right minds out there people would do anything to help someone find a killer that killed someone. It may take a month or a year to find someone but no one ever gives up hope while in that amount of time. How all of this was a turning point explains that the enemies came together in a different way than most enemies come together. In some ways people are just not right in their heads. Some will try to agree with why the killer did what he did. In this case there was no way someone was going to let the killer get away with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Initially, today we will try to talk people out of lawsuits and everything else but back then there wasn’t any talking it was all about the hunt and the hostage. Third of all, hazing is a very common thing it may not be okay with people but it is a very common thing. Hazing has always been around especially when Abraham Lincoln was shot and killed. After his death the town went out of control killing people and drinking way too much. Sure it’s okay to have fun at one point in life but is it okay to kill people while doing it. Obviously it is not okay. Abraham Lincoln had got most of the mischievous stuff out of the way so he could do what he knew was right. He did not create the emancipation proclamation so that people could go on a hazing and killing spree. He did it so colored people could fight in the war and all of them could be free. The lifestyle we have now is not exactly the same but there was a group that set fire to an American flag as they stomped on it. When Abraham Lincoln died it was kind of the same thing except they were picturing stomping in John Booth’s face with their foot. They wanted to find the man who killed the greatest man alive and hurt him but of course there was only one person that did that for them. Clearly, hazing wasn’t the way to go for the death of their president but murder wasn’t either. Last of all, we all have our opinions and we all have information to back it up. We all could have the three questions everyone asks like Who, how, and what. Most can laugh about the little things but will you laugh when it happens to you. Abraham Lincoln was a great president but he was the type of guy that is sentimental and okay with himself. We all wonder if John Booth was actually sick in the head or if he was just flat out crazy. He made the world harder than what life was supposed to be. If Abraham Lincoln was still alive he probably would have made it so there would have been equal rights to the bathroom and on the bus. Clearly Abraham Lincoln did not deserve to die.
