For my third outside reading essay, I read Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. This book tells the story of how Abraham Lincoln hunted vampires, but no one knew it. The whole story is just the narrator reading Abe's secret journals on how he hunted vampires. In Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter, Abraham Lincoln has to fight many vampires to survive in the end.
In the beginning of the book, Abe finds out a vampire kills his mother, so he hates vampires. His father remarries years after. Abe really likes his stepmom because she is really nice to him and even buys him a journal. Abe feels a little better about his life, but never feels completely better until he finally kills Jack …show more content…
After this, he finds out that the vampires hide out in the south while everyone is focused on the slaves and vampires and slavery go together like salt and pepper. He also finds out that if he wants to destroy one of the two, then he will have to destroy the other.
Abe then falls in love twice, first with Ann Rutledge, who was later killed by vampires, and the second time was with Mary Todd, whos father was the ally of all the vampires, but he decides that he can live with that. He ends up marrying Mary and they have kids together. He retires from vampire hunting and politics and goes back to being a regular old lawyer. Henry then lures him back into vampire hunting and tells him that vampires want to make a war between the North and South.
Abe runs for president in attempt to stop all of this badness from going down. Abe wins the election and the South secedes and we have a Civil War, as we all know, but what we don’t know is that the Confederate army included tons of vampires, who were very good at scaring troops from the Union army, as well as racists that supported slavery. Abe issues the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing the slaves in rebel states to counter the Confederate vampires. After this is issued, some of the slaves rise up against the vampires, which helps the North win the
