Dementia is one of the leading causes of incapacitation, expressing itself when the pathological processes in the brain reach the point of rigorous cognitive impairment. Alzheimer's is often the prevalent cause for dementia but isn't the only explication for dementia. Other causes include vascular dementia caused by strokes, Lewy body disease, Parkinson's disease, frontotemporal dementia, and other disorders. In this review, we discuss the existing notions of expertise and knowledge on various non alziemer causes of dementia, its characterization and the recent research on this field and current treatment techniques for dementia and its types.
