Abuse Of Power In Sophocles Antigone

Violence, greed, and suffering are all great examples of power being abused negatively. When someone has power, they have the decision to either use that power in a positive or negative way. Sadly, some people decide to use their power in a negative way that affects others. Power can have a negative effect on others by using fear and manipulation.
An example of power being used in a negative way is King Creon using fear in Antigone by Sophocles. Many times in Antigone King Creon abused his power in a negative aspect. For example, when the Sentry spoke to him that someone had disobeyed his edict, the Sentry showed fear because he was afraid of how the king was going to react and King Creon fed on that fear which then filled him with rage. This shows that King Creon used that fear to gain more power over the people. This also shows that King Creon has a great amount of power in the kingdom because his people feared how he was going to
react when he found out about the news. In conclusion, King Creon used his rage and power to make his people fear him and he succeeded greatly. In the end, his people feared King Creon and he used the power he gained in a negative way. Another example of a negative effect of power is Hitler using manipulation during World War 2.
Hitler is arguably the worst person to ever live on Earth because he created camps that killed millions of people and Jews. Hitler used manipulation to convince the world and Germany that the Jews were bad and evil. This shows that Hitler had such a great amount of power, that he manipulated almost the entire country of Germany and a part of the world that Jews were atrocious and that they should be eliminated from planet Earth. This also shows that Hitler used his power in a negative way by using manipulation to kill millions of innocent people. When Hitler used his power in a negative way, it had a negative impact on the world and especially the millions of people and Jews who lost their lives. In conclusion, Hitler used his power that he gained from Germany in a negative aspect that then affected millions of people, Germany, and even the world. He was able to gain power and then use that power he gained negatively through
manipulation. Fear and manipulation can have a negative effect on others from power that is being abused. Power can be used in both a positive and negative way and it can have benefits and drawbacks. However, some people use that power in a negative way by abusing their power by enlisting fear and manipulation.
