An Acceptance speech is written to providean expression of gratitude for some form of award. An award is a symbol signifying approval or distinction or an honor or reward which has been given on the basis of merit, for excellence in a specific field. Courtesy requires that sometimes an acceptance speech is necessary in response to such an honor. Easier said than done! You will need to sound grateful but not condescending, modest but not retiring and humble and not arrogant.
THE FAREWELL SPEECH
A Farewell speech is written to extend good wishes at a special milestone in someone's life when leaving an organization, community, company, role or place. It provides an opportunity to thank people who have provided help and support. These occasions are generally informal but it is always helpful to plan what you are going to say in advance so that the content of your speech is not just left to chance and special references might be made to people who have played an important role. This type of speech should also be short and remember to try to inject some humor!
THE THANKYOU SPEECH
A thank you speech is a short public speech, which serves to express gratitude for something that was presented/offered to a person as a spiritual gift (love, support, help, personal time, caring attitude) or material one (a tangible article).
THE INSPIRATIONAL SPEECH
An Inspirational speech is written to persuade, or convince the listeners, that they can succeed. This might involve relating optimistic and uplifting stories, or anecdotes, based on faith or real life situations taken from the lives or ordinary or famous people from history, sports, politics and the Business world. The objective of an inspirational speech is to provide the listener with the desire and confidence to pursue difficult goals to maximise their own potential. An Inspirational speech is not an easy task and usually undertaken by professional speakers and politicians!
