December 20, 2012 In any private/public partnership you find you will examine the most essential element of the partnership and that is accountability. In other words the execution of responsibilities and being answerable for them, it is important that each sector is liable for their part in the decision-making process ((Demirag, & Khadaroo, 2011). This aspect of PPPs is pivotal because there must be proper handling of public funds and to ensure that the services that were promised are delivered successfully (Lecture 5 notes, 2012). This will help determine if the project is moving along and at the right timeframe. As in any project budgeting efforts must be taken into careful consideration. Large infrastructure projects can be costly and in many ways taxpayers’ are burden with the cost so this too is necessary. Benchmarking helps to keep the project in the allotted timeframe that was given when the project was initiated. I-85 improvement project is set to be complete in the fall of 2013 so careful benchmarks along the way will ensure that this happens. During any specific time along the life of a project we know that setbacks can occur this is why at every turn it is important to look at ways to improve operations associated with the project. It is important to evaluate the effectiveness of all accountability methods in any given project. The key to successful project depends on it!
