Adnan Is Guilty: Film Analysis
The next point on why Adnan is guilty is because of Jay's solid testimony. Jay shows police exactly where hae's car is and leads them to it . ("Once they're finished at headquarters, they all drive out in the middle of the night to where the car is parked, on a grassy hill behind some row houses off Edmondson Avenue. Within a few hours, they'll have a warrant for Adnan's arrest.") Jay knew exactly where Hae’s car was and shows the police exactly where its at. Jay had a big role in this murder and Adnan is still acting like nothing happened. Jay might have some inconsistencies, but he is very consistent with his information and perspective of this whole mess. While in Serial Sara try’s and make him look like a big time drug dealer to try and …show more content…

Adnan and Hae’s Relationship wasn't your typical relationship. Adnan was possessive and seems like he couldn't even trust Hae. Adnan was really possessive according to Emily saying “It started out with Hae being completely in love with Adnan but over time, that slowly faded. Reasons why this “love faded” include the fact that Adnan would randomly show up at a friends house when Hae was there. There were other instances where he would show up randomly, he seemed to be a clingy type of person.” Adnan was so clingy after the breakup and so heartbroken that he finally had no one left. His Religion, family and even some friends were done with him because of Hae and in his mind he had no other route than to kill Hae Lee. Adnan even loved Hae so much that he would even lie to his own mom. Sara even says that “Adnan did most of his lying to his mother. She figured out something was up pretty early on. She’d found Adnan’s crown from prom in the basement where he’d tried to stash it with his tux.(episode 2)” Adnan lied to his mom so he could date this girl. That is not normal at all and this shows that he was trying to keep stuff from his parents and probably not the only thing Adnan has kept from them. Once he realized after Hae broke up with him that he was so foolish that a girl came between him and his family. Adnan at this point couldn't let go of the fact of how stupid he was until he had successfully killed

Jay says in two different investigations that the call came in around 3:45 but according to the records they came in at 2:36. The records also show that Jay was not at Jenn’s house from 12pm to 3:40pm (like he and Jenn said) that leaves the following; Jay was in the area of Hae’s last-known location at the time that she went missing, and Jay has no alibi for where he was during that time period. Thus, Jay can’t be at Jenn’s house, as he and Jenn told the police over and over. The records show the phone near Woodlawn the entire time of Hae’s (probable) abduction and(or) murder. The same phone was being used to call “Jenn house” at the same time. Adnan has no reason to call Jenn. Did Jay call Jenn?…

Police coaching is also believed to have taken place during the questioning of Jay. Within the police files, there is a document labeled ‘Jays Crinology’ and a few maps that show where cell towers are located and pinged throughout the day of the event. The document referring to what Jay’s activities is a numbered list with twenty four events that took place on the day of Hae’s disappearance. It is believed that the police were helping Jay remember the points on that list by reminding him about details that he forgot about. For example, detective McGillivray sighs of exasperation and points out that Jay and Adnan have both Hae’s car and Adnan’s car at one point in time, and Jay forgets about the detail of still having both cars. Jay says, “We…

During Jay’s testimony, Jay admitted to helping Adnan move Hae’s body which astounded the court as to how open and descriptive he was. In addition Jay told Jenn to be honest with the detectives due to the fact that the lies both were telling to protect and shield each other were clouding the truth .This definitely helped Jay’s case in perceiving Adnan as guilty by making himself seem believable and honest in front of the jury, but is this just a tactic by Jay to quickly turn attention away from himself and possibly others ? When Jay was asked as to why he didn't tell Hae that Adnan threatened to kill her his response was, “I took it as a grain of sand instead of concrete.” Jay a good friend of Adnan testifying against him , this not only raised eye brows but only helped persuade people in the court that Adnan is guilty of murder. Due to the lack of suspects Jay’s testimony was the deciding factor for prosecuting Adnan as guilty for the murder of Hae. Interestingly enough Jay’s story changes multiple times during interviews with the Baltimore Police Department and he even admits to lying when on the stand which contradicts some of the evidence he brought up, which leaves me to believe he may not be telling the…

Adnan was indeed convicted of murdering Hae by the court. Although the reason the court used to convict Adnan of murder were not the most reliable and believable, but the ruling of the court still was correct. If Adnan had truly not murdered Hae, then he would have tried to be more convincing about his testimony and come up with better evidence that he could have used to prove himself innocent. As the court proved Adnan guilty, it it believable because of evidence and logic behind the court’s decision.…

Asia McClain, a classmate of Adnan’s, said that she saw and talked to Adnan that day at the exact time the prosecution claims he was murdering Hae and calling Jay from a payphone at Best Buy that doesn't exist. Asia is one of the very few people who have stuck to the exact same story as they told 17 years ago. Asia wrote Adnan letters in prison, discussing their conversation at the library where she was waiting for a drive. I believe her account of that day because she is unbiased, she doesn’t know if Adnan is innocent or guilty, she just knows what she saw that day, that’s it. She has nothing to win or lose in this case. Asia remembers that day clearly because as she stated in her letters, it was the first snow of the year, which ended in…

People delegate important personal aspects of their lives to professionals, but not without the risks of unethical behaviors. The word Professional makes one think of wealth and power, which can result in corruption; winning by any means necessary. In the movie The Verdict, Frank Galvin plays a lawyer who has reduced himself to being a drunken ambulance chaser (Brown, Harris, Zanuck, & Lumet, 1982). He is given an opportunity by his good friend, Mickey Morrisey, to morally redeem himself; not only as a lawyer, but most importantly a person.…

As noted earlier the obsession with fifth columnists in England meant that spy pictures were very popular. One such was ‘The Spy,' a two-reel drama furthering the belief that German spies were everywhere. Another was ‘The Deadly Model,’ a drama about the German Spy System in London, but by far the most chilling drama shown during these summer months was ‘The Mad Dog of War.’…

In conclusion , Adnan is innocent because they didn’t have enough evidence to prove Adnan wrong, there key witness was lying and changing things up . Even though Adnan proves that he is innocent , he could be guilty , he shows he is ultimately innocent because if you look closely , they didn’t really look at other people that made Adnan sound good, and in trial they were being racist, and unfair to him . What I mostly learned from this project is to always be ready for anything because you never know when it will be you.…

The second reason i believe adnan is innocent because there was no evidence that he actually killed hae. This reason makes sense because there was no fingerprints of adnans hands on haes neck. This part of the story is when sara koenig starts to look at evidence they have on adnan. And they dont mention the fact his fingerprints were never on haes neck. Adnan says “ they really dont have that much evidence for me to still be in here” and hes right on the aspect that he never really killed her. And many murderes have been caught with the gloves they killeed someone with. But the thing about adnan is there were never no gloves found. This proves that he is innocent because he never actually killed hae. So he shouldnt be in jail based on the evidence…
