The vinegar represents the memories in life that we are not that fond of. Bad memories, shortcomings, or mistakes that we want to forget forever. Just like the vinegar, these memories make us cringe whenever we remember it. But, without the vinegar, foods won’t last long. It will immediately be spoiled, put to waste. Just like in our lives, vinegars plays a big role. It won’t be there if not for a reason.
Garlic, on the other hand, has a bitter like taste. This, too, represents problems and the times whenever life seems too bitter, too unfair. These are the times when we encounter trials and difficulties in life. We may not like to eat garlic or to experience bitter-like moments, but, as we all know, garlic is good for our health. It contains antioxidants which help remove toxins from our body. Same goes for the bitter moments. Morrie Schwartz once said that we must accept whatever comes into our lives, feel the pain and then let it go. Let it detach. In that way we have truly experienced it yet we did not let it change us negatively. Instead, it will help us to think more positively. For the next time that we experience pain, we will recognize that it is pain that we are feeling, and since we already know the feeling, we can now let it go.
