Adolf Hitler and Radovan Karadzic wanted purity. Hitler annihilated the Jewish people as well as Karadzic annihilated the Bosnian people. Karadzic did not murder as many people as Hitler did, in fact it Hitler murdered of 88% of the Jewish people, that’s 7% more than what Karadzic killed. There is a difference between using power and abusing power, both Karadzic and Hitler abused their power completely. Genocides are extremely horrendous; Genocides are executions and mutilations mainly on people who are from a different ethnicity and religion. For …show more content…
example, the holocaust was the first major genocide on people who are Jewish and practice Judaism. Another example is the rivalry between Serbs and Bosnian people.
Adolf Hitler had this belief where he felt that Germans were better than everyone that they were superior.
Hitler said that Jews were a threat, if you will. Not only where Jews targeted but every human who was not German. Adolf was a charismatic man, which is why most Germans back then saluted him and some today still believe that Hitler was a great man. Jewish people were sent to Auschwitz, they were transported on trains that were used for cattle. Once they arrived to Auschwitz, men and women were selected for work or death right there on the spot. Women and girls were forced to shave their heads, Men and boys were forced to work to death. Children were put to death once they got there. Having hardly any food or water these people were skin and bones, not only that but they were mutilated on as if they were some scientific experiments. It is inhuman for one to do such a thing. Doctor Josef Mengele was the doctor at Auschwitz, he had an interest on twins, he often would give them candy and clothes, spoil them if you will and then once they were in his lab he would put them to sleep and inject chemicals into their hearts before dissecting them. Germany surrendered on May 7,
1945.
In a few ways Radovan Karadzic and Adolf Hitler did things the same way, for example Jewish women were tortured and raped, the same thing happened with Bosnian women, that’s the sad truth. Another example is that Bosnia men a lot like the Jewish men were killed on the spot. Karadzic has no shame in what he did, he thinks him and the Serbs did nothing wrong at all. He said that “Bosnia and Herzegovina which for 500 years suffered.” This rivalry started because for the Yugoslavia breakup caused by the Americans and Europeans. Karadzic thinks it is Germany’s fault as to why Bosnia couldn’t get 100 percent power how it use to be in the Ottoman Empire. Being that Germany was the enemy to Serbia in World War Two. Many Bosnians were sent to refugee camps, the Serbs wanted Bosnian to be purely Serbian religion. What really set off the genocide in 1994-95 was the vote, Serbs toyed with the vote, and the Muslims as well as Croats wanted their independence after that vote the war over Bosnia has begun. As stated above the Bosnian people were killed, violated and ripped away from their homes. Women and young girls were sent on buses to Bosnian territory grounds where they were violated and had their piece of mind taken from them. Men and boys were left behind and as previously stated they were killed or sent to killing sites. In 1995 the Bosnian came to an end.
There has been no one to try to stop the holocaust, the research doesn’t show much of if anyone tried to put the holocaust to a stop, If anyone even thought to speak up or try to stop Hitler, they felt that they would not only put their lives in danger but also their families lives. Hitler was able to keep his mass killing quiet until 1933; it was simple back then because there was no social media to make it known. Eventually the Nazis had to surrender in 1945, in Berlin, Germany. On to if anyone tried to stop the Bosnian genocide, Samantha Power wrote a book called A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide. The U.S did not want to interfere what so ever, they didn’t get involved until it was already too late, can’t really say better late than never. The Dayton Accords had the peace agreement, which was signed on December 14, 1995 stopping all violence in Bosnia.
After fifty years later the similar genocide occurs once again, after the saying “Never Again” has been overly used, it happened again to the Bosnian people. It’s really an inhuman thing to do but to have it reoccur is preposterous, really when is this “Never Again” saying going to kick in. Both Adolf and Radovan wanted purity on their territory but simply took advantage of the power they had earned. Neither of these men, deserved to have the kind of power they had, I wouldn’t even call them “men” but simply cowards, there will never be one race and or one religion .
