Hitler Vs. Stalin
During the time of World War II period in the 1900s, two rulers from two great nations rose to power. They are Hitler from the Nazi Germany and Stalin from the Soviet Union. Both of the two leaders share some similarities in their rule, for example they had total control of their countries. However, there are few differences between them as well. By examining the historical events, we can see that how Hitler and Stalin led Germany and Soviet Union to the top of world stage.
Hitler rose to power in Germany while Stalin rose to power in the Soviet Union in 1920s, although the Soviet Union under Stalin stayed longer than Hitler’s Nazi Germany. Both Stalin and Hitler are extreme dictators and they established totalitarian states. They were both skilled users of propaganda and it helped them to gain supports and power quickly. They both have ambition to make their countries powerful in the world. Once Hitler was in power and had the total control of Germany, he destroyed the socialists and Communists, and dis banded other political parties. Germany became a one-party state and Hitler became head of Nazi party. Hitler was a harsh ruler that he exterminated all Jews in Germany. Stalin was harsh too that he used his force to gain power.
Stalin achieved his goal in a different way compare to Hitler’s. The Soviet Union under Stalin is a communist nation. Therefore, the economy system in Soviet Union was highly controlled by government and it was planned for the next five years according to Stalin’s Five-year Plan. Unlike communism, Hitler’s Nazi Germany had a capitalism economy system, also know as free economy. Under this system, small business and private business are allowed to exist in the nation. Hitler also solved many poverty, inflation, and unemployment issues caused by the reparation through capitalist economy.

Hitler commands the Germans to invade the Soviet Union in 1941 – this was Hitler’s greatest mistake, but was luck on the Soviets side or was it all just the leader Stalin’s good tactics and leadership? Even though Stalin was a mass murderer and a ruthless leader, he did one thing right. After the Soviets were losing battle after battle Stalin let his commanders fight the war as they knew it, did not interfere with their plan and stuck to his word, unlike Hitler did. Stalin let his commanders be true commanders and did not use them as puppets or for his own use. He was a true leader stuck to his word which is why I think the he was successful at leading his nation to victory. As the war continued the number of errors that Stalin was making got…

Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin are widely regarded as the greatest tyrants of the twentieth century, accountable for more violent deaths than any other leaders in history. Both have been individually and collectively labeled mass murders, tyrants, “authors of terror”, and even “twin demons of the twentieth century”. The shared political methodology of both dictators was heavily based around totalitarianism. Their apparatus of power and repression led to absolute and ruthless authority over the population of their respective nations. The disparity in Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin’s rise to power, economy, policies, totalitarian rule and methodology confirm who the greater oppressor was.…

In order to compare these men thoroughly, one must begin with their roots which bear resemblance to each other. Stalin, born to a washerwoman and cobbler, grew up in the Russian ruled country of Georgia. Hitler, too, spent much of his early life in Austria, not Germany, a country in which he was not a citizen but would play a large role in its history later in his life. Both lived their early lives in relative poverty, and their fathers abused them as children and often beat them. As a young man, Stalin traveled to Tiflis, the Georgian capital (now renamed Tbilisi), on his religious mother's orders to become a priest; however, he abandoned his studies, turned to the writings of Karl Marx, and joined a socialist group. From then on, he would…

These dictators were born outside of the countries they ruled. They also worked on killing anyone they disagreed with or they didn’t think were equal. I find it really scary how similar Hitler and Stalin are. These two dictators are different in the means of who they killed. Hitler was leaning more to killing slavs and jews.…

Adolph Hitler was a fascist that was the leader of the Nazi Party. Karl Marx, (Marxism) was very similar to Nazism. Hitler wrote “Mein Kampf” while he was in jail. It said that communism and socialism were the same, and only different because of race. He was in favor of universal healthcare and Social Darwinism, or survival of the fittest. He wanted to bring Germans together to make Germany a better place by exterminating Jews and others he thought were minorities.…

Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin both shared many things in common as dictators in the 1920's til the late 1940's. It's interesting to think that men who had so much in common, from their childhood to the way they ruled their countries, would actually hate each other due to their political ideology. Hitler was part of the Nationalist Party while Stalin enforced a Communist regime. Both men were immensely popular within their own country as they brought effective change, but with secret agendas and elusive plots eventually surfacing, both can be easily classified as the most hated man in history.…

Machiavelli and Adolf Hitler are both names synonymous with evil: killing without reason, fear tactics, cruelty. “Adolf Hitler, according to his own word, kept The Prince by his bedside, where it served as a constant source of inspiration…” (Downs 201). Machiavelli’s work is known as a guide to holding absolute power; Hitler took The Prince’s advice, but the extent is up for debate. They shared basic mutual principles, but certain technicalities are different. Hitler took a great amount of inspiration from Machiavelli and applied them to his rule, but he did things that Machiavelli condemned in The Prince, such as the instability that resulted from his rule.…

As we have seen, both Hitler and Stalin have indeed helped their country’s economy grow, however, they left no choice to the people. Both politicians sent whoever refused the job offering to concentration camps. The people have no say in government like these. Both Hitler and Stalin have a totalitarian system, which means they have full control over everything the country does, anybody who doesn’t agree with them disappears and is never heard of again. To start off this comparison and contrast between the two great leaders, I would like to take in to account that both of them gained absolute power in the similar period of time. As we know Hitler was declared chancellor of Germany in January 1933, a few years back in 1929 Stalin emerged as the great leader and by the early 1930s he was unstoppable having no opposition that can stop his reign. There were just individuals who threatened him from time to time. After the both leaders came in complete power no or little opposition was facing them.…
