When a person is addicted to drugs it means that a person needs a drug to function normally. Drug addiction is the compulsive use of a substance, without the worries of the negative effects or the dangers of using. Drug addiction plays major role in how a person is viewed and dealt with in society, and make have an effect on not only the users lifestyle, but may also effect their family life in and outside the household. The exact cause of drug abuse and dependency is not really known. There are thought to be many factors that may lead to a person’s addiction(s), there may be something in a persons genes, peer pressure, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, environmental stress, persons who use pain relievers and even the action of the drug. People with one or more of these problems are more likely to have a problem with drug abuse. The However, in this time and age there seems to be a high popularity rate of drug usage within the teen years and the young adult age groups, just to have a good time parting. These drugs commonly known as the “Club drugs”. In society today there are many types of club drugs, for instance we have these top three drugs of choice, special K, vitamin K, jet (ketamine) can cause delirium and amnesia; G, liquid ecstasy, soap (GHB) can cause coma and seizures; roofies (Rohypnol), and cannabis (marijuana) can incapacitate users and cause amnesia, these things are more probable when used with alcohol, Club drugs tend to be used by teenagers and young adults at bars, nightclubs, concerts, and parties. Several of these drugs can and will most likely lead to addiction and or dependency.
Drug addiction continues to grow and cause major concern for the society, and the addiction continues to ruin many lives of the users. Drug addiction can no longer be tide to just the poor or underprivileged, it has taken hold of all types of people in our society.
