One technology the article discusses is REACT. This is Rapid Energy Absorbing Crumpie Technology. It is a safety system put in place to protect kids in a front end collision. It is used in the Clek’s Foonf car seat. In this car seat REACT is designed to reduce the forces transmitted to a forward-facing child in a frontal collision. German based Cybex has an infant car seat which features enhanced side impact protection, an newborn inlay, infant insert, integrated designer canopy, steel chassis, belt tensioning plate, and a recline foot and level indicator. Summer infant’s Prodigy car seat tells parents if it is installed correctly by using smart screen technology. The technology guides parents through an efficient and easy base installation process.
This article showed me that technology can be used to make car seats safer for our kids. It also showed me the different technology used in these car seats and how effective they can be. The main thing I would like to know concerning car seats and this technology is how far can we go with it? Are there other ways we can make these seats safer and at the same time make them a more fun experience for our children? One new term I learned from this article is REACT.
