When using an EMV your vote goes directly into the system rather than being put into the hands of a stranger. The text mentions the President of the Information Technology Association of America stating that EMVs are much safer than paper ballots, and I can't help but agree completely. Although it seems like technology may be the more expensive route, it isn't. If we were to try and make paper ballots more accessible and make them in more than four different languages then the expenses would be much higher. Right now, they may be cheaper, but they are much more of a hassel for those who don't speak those four languages.
