with the people and atmosphere of the town. I surrounded myself with friends and adult mentors who helped me make the most out of my difficult. situation. However, my relationship with my mother still struggled, and the August before my senior year she had a mental breakdown and kicked me out of the house. I went to live with my father who still lived an hour and a half away in Ephrata, but I insisted on finishing my senior year at CHS. For four and half months I drove three hours every day to get to and from school, until one day in December I crashed my car on the icy roads. As yet another testament to how supportive the community of Chelan is, a family from church invited me to come live with them until I go off to college.
This is by no means my full story, but after this, I feel ready to tackle any challenges that my future may hold for me.
