Afremov Night Fantasy

Every artist has their own personal details they like to add onto each of their pieces. They might like their work to have a specific look or idea. For example most of Leonid Afremov paintings are colorful like the one that is shown above. This particular painting by him is known as Night Fantasy. A person can tell almost right away that even though it looks almost bleak and rainy in some spots like over on the top right side of the painting it is still meant to be taken as euphoric and amative.

Afremov is a sixty-nine year old man who is half Russian and half Jewish. He was born and raised in Vitebsk, Belarus but this particular art piece was made in Boca Raton, Florida. The painting is 36” wide x 30” high. Just like all of Leonid Afremovs other pieces of art this one is also an oil painting. He used a palette knife to apply the colors to the canvas. Although Afremovs has been painting for decades this specific piece was made sometime before 2010. There is not a specific date to when it was created but we do know it is a couple of years old.
