Long before Britain had officially taken over Nigeria as a colony, there was a large involvement in Slavery. Slave trade was a large involvement by the British economy/powers. Lots of the African students were cut from there cultures.
The Africans didn’t give up easily against the European powers they actually resisted quite violently. At the end of the 1800’s most of Africa and Asia had been survely colonized by all of the British power and the rest of the European powers.
In the book about King Leopold’s Ghost there was a lot of information about the colonization of Africa. Leopold was Congo’s new leader and did not have much education in him because of where he came from. Very few Africans had good education and very few college graduates. The economy and government percent was low and no education or leadership opportunities were around.
