Its boundaries were drawn about four thousand miles to the northwest in Berlin, Germany fourteen European nations men in 1884 to 1885 to carve up the African continent. No Africans attended the Berlin Conference. All of Africa was under control of the Europeans besides Liberia and Ethiopia. Only Seven countries were given the right to own a particular territory. What the European believe they gave to the Africans was the Christian religion, a “superior” form of government, and what they considered a more developed civilization.
Kenya was a very high religion type of colony which they had up to 27 different ethnic groups with different cultures all together 75 different ones. As they were invading their homes and taking everything the Africans were furious because of their land and their farms were being taken. After the war Kenyans directly challenged the idea that Kenya should be a “whites man’s country”. Kenya African Union (KAU) was formed and Jomo Kenyatta became president. A anti-colonial group of Africans called the Mau Mau went on a total break from Britain's system, they assumed it was Jomo Kenyatta’s idea so they arrested him October 29, 1952. Kenyans people started to join the group Mau Mau and set a rebellion.
