After watching Beliefs and behavior I understood and could relate to many families within this video being I come from a background of church goers who believes God and church are the way to live. I am very spiritual and believe in God but…. I don’t feel I have to pay a pastor every Sunday to be blessed nor follow in anyone’s footsteps to feel worthy. Parents normally pass on their beliefs and behaviors onto their children with hopes they will walk this path and pass it on to their family in the future. Parents often believe if you bring your child up in church their values would be different from other families who do the opposite. These parents become strict, inflict their morals and beliefs which a child would probably follow or either rebel and become the child they judged all along.
I don’t believe any parent is work in the way they choose to raise their children however, one must always keep in mind children grow and experience different people and eventually things change, beliefs , values and insight change once they educate themselves and share different views with peers everything that was instilled either gets stronger or change. Television has a big influence on the black community as shown in the video; rappers especially, women twerking, half-dressed or not dressed, our men calling them out their name; tearing them down forgetting they come from a black woman. Black families are not educated “Most” live in poverty and kill amongst themselves on top of being gunned down by others. We are our biggest problem, I recall living in crown heights predominantly black neighborhood I would leave at 7 am for work only to return same people in the same exact spot I left them.
