Essay On Black Lives Matters

Did Black Lives Matters change the world? Throughout the year we’ve been seeing the phrase Black Lives Matters on the news, social media, and even during the presidential debates. But is the movement actually making an impact on the world? In my opinion it is not. Black Lives Matter may be a hot topic but it is making very little change. Though there were huge protests covered by the media over the span of 15 months. None of those protests brought change. The issue with the Black Matters Movement are the lack of leaders, and nobody giving real solutions to fix the problem.
Since the tragic death of Mike Brown in 2014 Black Lives Matters have been protesting via social media and in the streets to raise awareness to the injustice murders of black people. While protesting is a good start for change there is barely any organization in the movement to effetely bring any real change. While the Black Lives Matter Movement has founders there are no leaders to push the movement forward. This is one of the reasons I think the Black lives Matter movement is not working. Every great movement had some type of leader to keep everyone organized and on topic such as the Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X with the civil rights movement and Huey P. Newton with the Black Panthers Party. If there
Something that I notice within the Black Lives Matter movement is that with all of the protesting for change nobody is giving any ideas on how to change the things going on. The only solution that is being thrown around is police body cameras. Which are a good idea it doesn’t stop civilians from killing at random or police from erasing the footage from the camera. Black Lives Matters need to sit down and make a list of solutions to figure out how we are going to stop the unjust killings of black people by police and
