In 2012 an underage teen named Trayvon Martin was fatally shot trying to go home from the store by a man named George Zimmerman. In 2011 twelve year old boy named Tamir Rice was shot by police for playing with a bebe gun outside. A girl named Aiyana Jones was shot by a policeman while she was sleeping on the couch during a home raid by police. There are many more of these cases, one thing they have in common, they were all black and all cases were ruled as not guilty. 41 black boys have been reported shot unarmed since 1980 to 2012, the average age of blacks killed by police was 30 the average age of whites was 35 ( deadly force in black and white Gabrielson). The black lives matter group no matter how old the case is still trying to get justice for the family. Trayvon’s family got higher than a million. There's a 49 percent chance of a black person getting shot by police than a white person and at least half the cases remain not guilty. 2015 a young man was shot sixteen times and the department said the young man was shot twice not sixteen. The black lives matter group soon showed evidence that he was indeed shot sixteen times, including that the officer reloaded his gun. The department actually covered up a murder trying to save an officer that shot someone unarmed. But also the movement of black lives matter system can help our justice system for good (philly.com tank) . Since the group started there has been an improving of the system. Their still are cops who use their power for worst. In the Sandra Bland case the photos of her mug shot did not look right. Her shoulders up instead of down chin down instead of up almost looked like she was lying down instead of standing up. Her face blotchy in areas she looks dead.
