Why Do Black Lives Matter

I have decided to choose the topic of black lives matter. The reason I that I chose this topic is because when I was a policeman, at the time the Michael Brown incident happened. I saw and heard a lot of things. Being an African American male and a policeman I could not be outspoken about the incident. At the time the department frowns on that type of news form their employees. I saw a lot of people rioting for what I felt was no reason. I felt that if Martin Luther King was alive today he would be so upset that people are doing such things. I feel that people need to begin at home and train people. I feel people need to be open minded about the subject. I remember that Brown incident started everyone automatically felt that the officer shot him with his hands up. The only information that was available was that Brown was unarmed. y watching everyone and America I believe the feeling is that black lives only matter when the life is taken by a policeman. Any other time that I saw that a black life was lost, by any other means but by police deadly force, it did not get the Black Lives Matter people protesting or anything like
that. While watching the news one day a news story of a black female child age twelve, was shot and killed while at home studying in her room. One that same day a police department was serving an active warrant on a black male. The black male pulled a gun and shot at the police which in turn the police returned fire and the person was killed. After that incident, the streets were closed from all the protest.
The purpose of the research question is I am trying to figure out why people say that black lives matter is called black lives matter instead of black lives matter only when taken by a police officer in a deadly force shooting.
I also want to prove that blacks need to stop thinking people owe them. I would like to know that there is information out there that shows my findings. However, I know that people will call my information a deflection on the topic they care about. I guess my question will be, “ Does black lives really matter?” This is the day and time of fast information. People recording all incidents as they happen. However, I have seen that even regular people can edit video. I do feel that if people looked at all situations with an open mind, then they will be able to see this point in a different
light.
My hypothesis is such because the numbers show that people like to believe the first thing that they hear. The statistics will show that black on black crime numbers are more in number. I understand that one black being killed by police is too many, however I feel that black on black crime is a bigger sin. When doing research, I found the data of how many blacks die in one area. After that number, I found how many blacks die from a violent death. Which means a black death by another person. I also checked how many blacks kills blacks. That is the saddest statistic. I understand that we are killing each other at an alarming rate and it is a shame. My people are our own worse enemies.
The method of collecting this data is looking up the FBI and TBI statistics. They have all crime background from all areas. I chose this method because the FBI and TBI data is usually good. I also chose to use this method because I do believe it is the easiest way to collect the information that I need. It shows all jurisdiction’s crime and each department’s data of crime statistics. It also breaks down arrest by age groups.
