On the day of the 11th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, another attack unfolded--this time, on foreign soil, but still very much hitting close to home. Four U.S. citizens--the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens; a Foreign Service information management officer, and two other U.S. personnel--died when members of the radical Islamist group called Ansar al-Sharia, one of many extremist Salafi groups, clashed with security forces in Benghazi after protesting near the U.S. consulate. It has been debated what has provoked this violence, but it was initially believed that it was due to an online film considered offensive to Islam. Earlier on in the day, in Cairo, there were protests being executed in response to the mentioned video, but whether or not those protests were related to the Benghazi attacks remained unclear in the few days following.…

The bombing killed 168 people and wounded 680 others, the blast from the bomb destroyed 324 buildings, causing an estimated $652 million dollars’ worth of damage, but the main building of the attack was the Alfred P. Nichols, the accomplice had assisted in bomb preparation. McVeigh’s hatred for the government was fueled by the deadly fire that…

The Virginia Tech massacre was an absolute disaster and could have been avoided if people actually did their jobs and what they were supposed to do leading up to and before the shootings began. Cho was spiraling well before the events and had he been reported to the police he never would have gotten his hands on two guns and all that ammunition. The Virginia Tech staff also dropped the ball because once they found the chained doors with the note that said there was a bomb, the person went up to the third floor to speak to a supervisor instead of just calling the police like they were supposed to. One if I saw chained doors and a note saying don’t leave or a bomb will go off I would immediately call the police. Then I would hop out of a window.…

It was April 20th, 1999 when, interestingly enough, on the birthday of Adolf Hitler, two students of Columbine High School, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, decided to get back at all of society for the few who had teased and bullied them. By using guns, a fire bomb, propane tanks converted to bombs, 99 explosive devices, and bombs rigged in cars, they hoped that their actions would rival the Oklahoma City bombing. Luckily, not all the bombs detonated. Yet, using mainly their guns, the aftermath of the deadly suicide massacre left 15 dead and 24 injured.…
