Chairman:
A very good afternoon to Madam Sabrina, our distinguished class teacher and the entire audience cum pupils of (class), (School name). I, (your name), chairman of this forum, would like to welcome everyone to this forum entitled “Tips on How to Save Our Earth”. I am pleased to introduce to you two panel members of this forum, _______________ and _____________, who will be discussing with us the Tips on How to Save Our Earth.
Our first question today to Miss (Panel1) - Can you describe to us what are currently happening to the earth and the importance and reasons for the need to save our earth?
Panel 1:
Thank you Mr Chairman. As everyone may know by now, there is so much talk about global warming. Look at Earth from space and you see a mainly blue, watery planet with swirling white clouds. All looks well, but get closer, and you see a different picture. Parts of Earth are unhealthy and all because of the way we live.
Earth is our only home we can't live on other planets, we need to look after it to make sure it stays a beautiful, healthy place. If we don't care for the Earth now, we will spoil it for the people of the future. There are many things you can do in your everyday life to care for the Earth. If everyone does something, Earth would be a better place to live.
Earth Climate is slowly getting warmer. Scientists who studying the climate has found that it is a little warmer now than it was 100 years ago. You may not notice the difference, but plants and animals do. It is getting warmer because of what the Earth's 6 billion people are doing. Because of the way we lead our lives, we are changing the Earth's climate. We are making the planet grow warmer.
We are making the rise in temperature by burning the 'fossil fuels' like coal, oil and natural gas. We are putting greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere. Sulphur dioxide is another harmful gas that comes from power stations and vehicles. It is very acidic, which means it eats

Over the years people have lost more and more care for the Earth and it is suffering the consequences of this neglect. A bad stewardship of the planet makes it respond with problems such as Air Pollution, Global warming, Water Pollution, overpopulation, etc. We think that as stewards of the planet we have the rights to do what we want with it, but this is damaging it, and us as well. We are the only ones here with the power and capability to change this, and there are certain estrategies that we can implement in order to make a positive impact on our Earth's water, land, and air.…

For the last 2.5 million years, global temperature has shifted between cold glacial periods that last for around 100 000 years, and warmer interglacial periods that last for around 10 000 years. Right now we are in an interglacial period. 20 000 years ago the Earth was cold. Around 15000 years ago it started to warm up, this was the end of the last glacial period. Over the last 10 000 years the climate has been warm with minor fluctuations, however over the last 1000 years the climate has been fairly constant with small fluctuations in annual temperature. Over the last century global temperature has increased rapidly. This is called global warming; there has been a sharp rise in average temperature, 0.7oc between 1900 and 2000. The temperature increase over the last century has been very fast. There is a consensus among scientists that the changes in climate over the last century are a result in human activities (anthropogenic causes), including Al Gore, as shown in the statement which I agree with. I think the majority of global warming is due to humans therefore it is our right to try and find solutions to diminish global warming as much as we can.…

In today’s fast-paced society, people seem to ignore one of the most important factors of why we are alive: planet earth! It provides us with water, “fresh” air, and a limited supply of natural resources. Mother earth has been a gracious host but it seems as if humans might be overstaying their visit. Modern day greedy businessmen try to squeeze every last drop of juice from earth. But soon, the earth will be all dried up with no more juice to offer. Fortunately, thanks to the work of many environmentalists all around the world from the present day, the world may be able to recover from all its injuries caused by the insatiable human race. Rachel Carson’s book “Silent Spring”, which spurred the environmental movement, helped raise awareness for the environment, warn humans of the dangers of using pesticides such as DDT, preserve several plant and animal species, and make the atmosphere cleaner…

The first reason is because global warming comes and goes. The earth naturally heats up and cools down. Thirty years ago we thought the biggest threat was global cooling and now the biggest threat is global warming. Through out history there has been numerous cooling and warming periods and we are now going though on of those natural warming periods. We also experienced a warming period during the Medieval Warm Period around 1100 AD when Vikings settled into Greenland because it used to be green and the perfect place to grow crops (1); grapes suitable for winemaking were also reported growing in England (2); and the tree line in Scandinavia was 100–200 m higher than present (3).…

For the past decade now there has been a long ongoing controversy, this controversy being this issue of global climate change. It has been a subject many people have been aware of yet few have actually talked about with the general public, as a result is has become one of the most undermined, yet widely discussed issues being held today amongst primarily scientists. Although scientist heavily debate on the subject, making suggestions on what needs to be done and pointing out the causes for climate change; we as a group need to take action in finding out what is happening to the Earth. It is only educating the general public is the only way we can come closer to reversing the damaged caused by global warming and climate…

Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are drying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace. Its becoming clear that humans have caused most of the pat century’s warming by releasing heat-trapped gases as we power our modern lives, called Greenhouse Gases, their levels are higher now than in the last 650,000 years. We call the result global warming and it is causing a set of changes to the earth’s climate. As the earth spins each day, the new heat swirls with it, picking up moisture over the oceans, rising here, settling there. It’s changing the rhythms of climate that all living things have come to rely on. What will we do to slow this warming? How will we cope with the changes we’ve already sent into motion? While we struggle to figure it all out earth hangs in balance. Global warming is real and is destroying our planet. We as inhabitants need to stop it! Today we will look at what global warming really is and what its’ effects are.…

The average temperature of Earth has been warming up since 1840, coinciding with the start of the industrial revolution. However, we can not establish a cause and effect relations, because the atmosphere does not react so quickly. During the decade of the 80 's started to be clear that had begun a warmer period, so that the discussion moved towards global warming that would lead us soon to a planet unbearable in which the oceans would boil. The taste for the catastrophic end seems endless. But today they not exaggerate so much about the subject. We know that global warming is evolving slowly, is part of Earth 's natural process, but we are contributing to this process and we are not being responsible with our environment. “For almost two decades, the United Nations has sponsored annual global talks, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, an international treaty signed by 194 countries to cooperatively discuss global climate change and its impact". (Nytimes.com, 2012) Is not a new issue, is known worldwide and is exploring options to minimize the impact.…

Moreover, I aim to give back to the Earth, I’ve already started my journey by leading the Eco-Warrior club at my school to make Reed High more environmentally friendly. I feel that humanity should aspire to maintain the Earth for generations to come. As I hear about the exploitation of our planet it angers me knowing that people abusively strip the Earth of her resources; we cannot go rampantly destroying the same home which provides us with life. I am driven by the moralistic need to preserve the Earth which has given us everything. We must give back all that we’ve taken from the…

The climate history of the earth has always fluctuated. There have been Ice Ages as well as the periods of great warmth, like when dinosaurs roamed the planet. So why is everyone concerned about the climate change now? Firstly, this changing climate is man-made. Secondly, the rate and speed at which the climate is changing has never occurred before. The climate used to change over a period of thousands of years. Scientists generally agree that the Earth’s surface has warmed by about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the past 140 years. A recent report predicts that the global temperature could rise between 1 degree Celsius and 6 degree…

    Globe Warming

Many scientists believe that the Earth atmosphere is heating up rapidly, researchers and scientists believes humans are the main cause. The term globe warming another term for "global warming" is "climate change." refers to the increase in the average temperature of global surface air and oceans since about 1950, and to continuing increases in those temperatures. Emissions from human activities have caused this unnatural change. Using the latest computer models, and the latest weathering technology their forecasts are worrisome of what might global warming mean to our planet. Global warming begins when the sun’s energy, in the form of light and heat, enters the Earth. However, it rises up, escapes the earth’s atmosphere, and returns to space in the form of infrared waves. Due to the presence of greenhouse gases such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, most of this radiation is trapped in the atmosphere. This is nature’s way of keeping the Earth at a comfortable temperature; without it, this planet would be too cold to even live in. You cannot exactly say they are harmful; it's just that now we have greatly increased the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) along with other greenhouse gases, thereby thickening the atmosphere trapping more heat and bringing up the Earth’s average temperature dangerously warmer. While the greenhouse effect is an essential environmental prerequisite for life on Earth, there really can be too much of a good thing, when human activities distort and accelerate the natural process by creating more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere than are necessary to warm the planet to an ideal temperature. Here are some of the causes of the greenhouse effect: burning natural gas, coal and oil-including gasoline for automobile engines-raises the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Some farming practices and land-use changes increase the levels of methane and nitrous oxide. Many factories produce…
