Environmental Issues in Canada
Over the years people have lost more and more care for the Earth and it is suffering the consequences of this neglect. A bad stewardship of the planet makes it respond with problems such as Air Pollution, Global warming, Water Pollution, overpopulation, etc. We think that as stewards of the planet we have the rights to do what we want with it, but this is damaging it, and us as well. We are the only ones here with the power and capability to change this, and there are certain estrategies that we can implement in order to make a positive impact on our Earth's water, land, and air.
Canada has many rivers, some of which flow into the ocean. But clean water in Canada is still not abundant. Climate change, problems with fossil fuels and contamination make it harder to have pure water for normal use. One way to solve this problem is to stop using chemicals for agricultural use, and instead use natural ways to cure plants and kill bugs. The water with chemicals contaminates the groundwater and streams. The big industries should have penalties if they drop chemicals or wastewater in rivers, streams or the sea. The underground resources aso sufer as farmer get water from there. If they would use water from rivers before using the underground water, the aquifers would last longer. Canada could find a way to desalinate water so we don't use all the clean water resources.
One big issue on land is the forests. People need trees for many things, so they cut them, and the trees are slowly desapearing. there are several ways to preserve forests, and some of them are already being implemented. The programs of reforestation work replanting trees so that they can still be important sources for us. Another solution, similar to the one before, is to plant trees. If each person that cuts a tree then plants another one, the problem wouldn't be that serious. Educating the people about the importance of trees and land, and giving them acces to others way to get resources would also make

The environment offers essential resources, like nutrients that are recycled to keep soil fertile, biological services, such as providing the global pollination of crops that we depend on for food, and natural improvements for our quality of life, such as controlling the chemistry of the atmosphere. These resources are vital to the survival of the human race, and are often taken for granted. Humans are constantly using these products and amenities to assist in their lives and consequently creating wastes that are put back into their surroundings. All people have the potential to impact the environment, both positively and negatively, directly affecting their resources available to them and the quality of life for themselves and all people on…

There is one Earth. All people who live on it have to share it, not only with those living today, but with those in centuries to come. What is done today will manifest itself tomorrow, affecting someone, somewhere. Many don’t think about their actions because what they do might not affect them in their own lifetime. As Pope Francis said, “We received this world as an inheritance from past generations, but also as a loan from future generations, to whom we will have to return it!” It is easy to harm the environment because many are ignorant of the consequences of their actions, which have become very routine. Changes in the individual mindset can put into motion a chain reaction. One person can influence many others, and one small change can make a big difference. There have been many figures throughout history that have been great examples of how important it is to respond to the call the Pope has made for environmental action and protection. Some influential activists have been Julia Hill and Wangari Maathai, both being very inspiring through their actions. People should heed…

As the world’s population increased so did the need for materials and goods. The growing population over looked environmental issues due to the need for goods which caused pollution, global warming, and the over use of our world’s natural resources. Pollution threatened the world’s supply of water and clean air because as human population increased so did the amount of trash and other pollutants we let infect our water and air. Rates of extinction of other species accelerated sharply due to human pollutants. Deforestation and desertification were continued consequences of the human impact on the environment because more and more humans used wood to build houses and buildings. Also, when we cut down the trees we did not replace them, which also caused deforestation and desertification. Rates of extinction of other species accelerated sharply. The increase in population also started global warming which is a major consequence of the release of greenhouse gases and other pollutants into the atmosphere. Humans also exploited and competed over the earth’s finite resources more intensely than ever before in human history.…

Canadians enjoy many basic rights that those in developing nations would consider a privilege. A healthy living environment, with access to safe and clean food and water resources, is something that Canadians are generally guaranteed. Most of the nation’s citizens have never felt an injustice being committed against them with regards to unequal safe resource distribution. However, environmental injustice does in fact exist in Canada, and is most visible among the country’s First Nations populations. Environmental injustice is one example of how indigenous communities have been treated in an unacceptable manner by the Canadian government for many years. One notable aspect of this injustice is the unequal access to safe and clean water within…

Living on this earth is a privilege and unfortunately we sometimes take advantage of it. Stories of deforestation, air and water pollution really make a person think of just how much our planet is being harmed. A major concern is water pollution. Water covers at least 70 percent of the planet which makes our rivers, lakes, and oceans essential. Many of these bodies of water are being polluted and although they may be out of sight, they eventually help pollution increase. Actions should be made to stop the pollution of our waters before things get worse. If we want to decrease the amount of pollution it starts out by increasing the amount of recycling we do. It shouldn’t stop there. Not only should efforts to improve laws against water pollution be made but public awareness¬¬ has to be raised about this issue.…
