Abstract
This paper is a study about the recent development of the Middle Eastern Airlines with a special focus on their air cargo carriers. These Airlines have been establishing a new dynamic on the way passengers and goods are transported around the world. Through a process of creating and developing new demands and new routes, these airlines along with the governments of Middle Eastern countries have been developing new infra-structure facilities such as airports and cargo terminals in order to position this region as one of the main air hubs of the world, bringing to their cities new business and a leading position in the aviation industry. The paper will describe how this demand for air transport was generated and how it affects the local economy, as well as the aviation industry as whole. There is also a special focus on the model of business and the operation of Emirates, the main of these airlines and the one that is most developed currently, and in Dubai’s infra-structure that is being built to be among the biggest and best of the world.
