It is due to the excessive amounts of harmful human activities that the world is almost melting away. Global issues such as climate change or global warming may sound unrealistic, however, the events occurring around the world proves that these issues are real indeed. Just as an example, London has been experiencing heavy rain with hale for the past couple of weeks and studies show that this is caused by the rapid surge in the atmospheric temperature. Thus, this time is ideal for the Melting Away as it plays with the theme of global warming
The element of form pertains to the three-dimensional shape of the object, in this case, the ice cubes. The structure or shape of the ice cubes is relevant to the composition and the theme overall as it helps the viewer to understand the major theme of the piece. In other terms, if the ice cubes were two dimensional instead of three dimensional, the viewer may not think it is an ice cube. In addition, the three-dimensional form of the ice cubes symbolizes the temporary stableness of today’s world. Moreover, the use of the hue blue also adds to the composition as it is often used to symbolize coolness and other properties of water. This hue is used to represent the idea that even though there is global “warming”, we seem to experience longer winters and cooler spring days. Interestingly, this situation occurs because of the imbalance in the temperature of ocean currents caused by rise in global temperatures and the melting of ice bergs.
