Alex Morgan Research Paper
Alex Morgan Career I am a big fan of Alex Morgan she has been my Idol since I started playing soccer myself. Alex Morgan is a 27 year old soccer player who plays for the United States Women’s National Soccer team. She was born on July 2, 1989 in San Dimas, CA. She has been playing since the age of 14 her position is forward and striker. Alex Morgan is known for her goals and assists but mainly for her hard work and dedication that is why she is the U.S soccer female athlete of the year.
First of all, it took her a lot of time to become a professional soccer player. She started training since 14 years old that is when she realized she wanted to become a professional soccer player and set a goal for herself. After school she would practice and practice even on her free time she would run miles around the track and do drills by herself at the field. Her coach started seeing how Alex practiced on her own and how she was improving so much. At the games he would put her in and she would shock everyone to slide tackles, shots, headers etc. Nothing got in her way of her dream when she would get cleated or get a type of injury she would shake it off and go back in she wanted to show people what she is capable of and everyone seen it. makes mistakes in life. Like Geoff Colvin says nobody is born perfect nothing is handed to you for free you have to earn it.
Alex Practices deliberately she disciplines herself with the drills she has to do.
For example she does squats and sprints for a minimum of 35 minutes to work on core and build endurance for her quads and calfs speed is key for soccer players. Other types of drills she does are shooting and finishing drills at first she would get tired easily but she did not give up she would fall on headers and hat tricks and she will get up she was not a quitter. Now everything she does at practice is easy for her she is used to her routine now. Like Geoff Colvin said deliberate practice is key to succeeding and becoming
great.
Last but not least, she reached her dream. All the years of her life she had set her mind to become pro at soccer that is why she never quit and kept going but besides that she has her loved ones and have supported her the whole way for example her parents and coach. When she was playing at Berkeley for college she knew they were scouts watching her and she knew she had to play at her best ability and had to take everything she practiced to the game to show the scouts what an amazing soccer player. When they asked her name she said Alex Morgan and they knew from that day that they found themselves some great talent and nobody can forget who she is. She is Alex Morgan.
In Conclusion, She is one of my biggest soccer idols and she inspires me by not giving up on my dream and anything can happen if you set your mind to it and work very hard. Alex is a hard working athlete if you want to become like her and become the top athlete of the year or just want to play professionally for any sport just practice and do not give up anything is possible.
