Even if we had all the material wealth we could ever possibly need and want it's still not enough. We would still want more, if so just for the prestige. Alexander the Great didn't have any pressing economic need, but he conquered Asia for glory. The Romans didn't have any need for Great Britain, but Claudius, the Emperor of Rome at that time, did it anyways. Why? Because he wanted more. More prestige, and more power.
Even
