Fluency Snapshot
Fourth Grade level story Vacation. He read 86 words in a minute he got 10 words wrong. HIs fluency isn’t where it should be. He still stutters, skips over words, and has hard times pronouncing word. HIs comprehension is probably better than his fluency it’s just takes him a long time to get through the material. I could see why he would not do well on a standardize test.

Level 4:

Do you know anybody who has ran away?
F. Summary
Alexjandro did the QAR well. Reading together with him was a big help. He comprehends better when he is read to but still struggles reading independently. The Level 1 and 2 questions were fairly easy for him. I had to probe a little more to get a good answer for the level 3 and 4 questions. The overall case study was shown be that literacy is more circular than linear. It’s possible for a child to comprehend but not be fluent or be fluent but not comprehend. Literacy is a set of skills that work together but need to develop individually.
