The All Hands meeting is a lecture format meeting, and individuals in the workforce are not given the floor freely. The effectiveness of this meeting while informative could have been quickly sent in an email as a video presentation. While it is important to recognize individuals for his or her accomplishments, DFAS also has a quarterly awards ceremony for such a purpose. The two divisions are Account Receivables and Account Payables. During the quarterly meeting, these are similar to the All Hands meeting they go over the group accomplishments and areas of focus going forward. In the past, it was also similar to the lecture format of the All Hand. The new structure for this meeting while still including a lecture part now has teams within the division each taking turns doing an icebreaker and a slide show of what that team does in the building at the start of each meeting. The new supervisor follows the presentation with the speech on performance/goals and then ends the meeting with a potluck lunch. Before the change in structure to the meeting the meeting was not being used effectively, the teams would sit, watch, and not interact for the most part. The agenda for the meetings were never discussed beforehand and often workers would not want to ask questions due to just wanting to get back to work. I look forward to seeing how the next quarterly meeting will go and to see if this goes in the right direction. The new format allows for employees development by being exposed to an overview of the functions of a new team and how that team's job relates to their team's job. Lastly, the meeting ends with lunch and allows for individuals to discuss the meeting and to get to know the other teams. This is important due to the current work environment feels very closed off, and each
