Cell Phones: Should they be Allowed in the Classroom?

Most projects have many steps and if you are into your project you can easily lose track of time. If you are dedicated to one specific part of a project and lose time, that one part will be very good and the rest of your project will not be very good. You will not have time for the other parts so you will rush. You may get a good grade on that one part of the assignment, but your grade will most likely average out to not a good grade. An evened out project is likely to score higher than the other. But here are apps or even just the simple timer on you phone that can help with this. Say you have one hour to complete a project and there are 6 steps. Set your timer for 10 minutes for every part of the project. Your projects will be an evened out project and you will get a good grade. Using cell phones in the classroom can help with learning for students. They can be used for educational apps, used for presentations, and used to measure productivity. Like Devon you will not lose track of time ever again if this gets

Another reason cell phones should not be banned in classrooms is because students can use them as a reminder or planner. Generally, cell phones have a calendar built in the device. In my biology class, I have a unit 5 test, unit portfolio assessment and a lab report due all on different days; I used my calendar app in my cell phone to be a reminder. Therefore, cell phones can remind me that I have assignments and tests coming up. This shows that a cell phone can benefit students in the classrooms.…

In one survey, 80% of Harvard students admitted that using their cellphone in class decreases their ability to pay attention. Not only does using a phone in class distract the person using it, it also distracts the people next to them. Another study on laptops in a classroom concluded that students near another student who was on a laptop during class scored worse on a test than those who were by themselves.
