Why I Want To Work As An Instructional Assistant
My future plans were very vague until I had the opportunity to work as an
Instructional Assistant at a high school. I have been introduced to a great number of wonderful people whose passion is to teach. They have motivated and inspired me to continue with my education, to focus on my future plans and also taught me that learning is not just for young kids but also for people like me who once started college and for certain reasons could not finish it, therefore, inspiring me to set up new short and long term goals in my life. Now more than ever, the world is connected in various ways, there are more resources and advanced technology that can be used to build an educational plan that will help me to achieve my goals.

goal I have created is to continue with my education through online courses and earn a degree in computer science. Once it is completed, I will pursue the next goal which is to become a high school technology or math teacher. I enjoy working with kids, and I feel it is rewarding to help people who wants to learn. It is a profession that makes a difference in the world and hopefully my short term goal will be obtained in two years.
I never thought of owning my own mobile device when I started college nineteen years ago. Neither have I imagined using one in a classroom because it would have been considered a rude thing to do. We are living in different times, and owning a mobile device is not a luxury anymore. It is a necessity and a great educational tool that will help me to. At the beginning of this semester I found myself without internet access which affected me by putting me behind schedule on my online classes. Once I was able to connect to the internet, I was back on track and able to catch up on my school work. Mobile devices are a great source of research. It is almost like carrying library everywhere you go and enables you to look up virtually any topic you can think of. Since
I am trying to get a degree thought online classes, my laptop and my cell phone are the best technological devices that would help me in the course of my career.
In order to achieve my main goal, I need to plan the steps I must take to work towards earning my degree and follow through. Living a busy life, working full time …show more content…
and having two small children leaves me with very little time to study. I need to organize my time to prepare myself and meet my academic goals. I need to create a daily to-do- things list, set priorities and check those that get accomplished.
Once I finish my career,
I will get to take an alternate route that will allow me to get a state-issued certification or license, which will allow me to look for a job as a technology or math teacher. Working in a high school has become my passion. It is one of the most rewarding professions. Teachers strive to help students to achieve their academic and social skills needed for college, work and life after graduation. High school teacher’s median annual wage is approximately $57,200 and its growth is projected 6 percent from 2014 to 2024.
Also, teachers can have the summer off which is a plus for people with kids, like myself, so we are able to enjoy quality time with our families. Without advanced technology such as laptops and mobile devices, none of my short or long term goals would be possible. Since education is my field of interest, it is vital that I have a good understanding of the current technological devices and their applications in the classroom. Not only from the perspective of a student, but also a teacher.
As a student, modern mobile devices has enabled me to stay in touch with my professors and assignments while I am away from my main computer. This way I
can mentally prepare for our assignments before I begin the official research for any given project. As a teacher assistant, I am able to help my students and assist the teachers by using my mobile device in the classroom or on the go. With my laptop, I’m able to work toward my career goal each day by doing research, writing essays, joining in on student forums and testing. Without technology, none of this would be my goals would be achieved with such ease. My lifestyle wouldn’t allow for me to not take online classes and eventually get my degree and achieve my long term goal of becoming an educator.
