The fourth physician is the brother-in-law of the Community Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer. He simply takes advantage of his family ties with the Chief Executive officer to gain a grace period for completing his records for the sake of convince. The last two physicians, who had been left from the list Barbara explained, are simply handled with kid gloves because they tend to be general nuisances to the organization if things are not done their own way. After talking with Barbara, Maya felt it would be appropriate to share the issue to administration, assuming the senior administrators of the facility was equally as dedicated to calculating and reporting accurate statistics. Unfortunately, the Chief Executive officer says keeping the physicians happy should be priority, because without these six physicians being able to admit patients or schedule surgical procedures, the organization revenue would decrease. He also reminded her of the importance of the confidential nature of the unwritten policy to prevent other physicians from expecting similar treatment (Ethics case studies for health information management,…
Synergy Orthopedics is already an office that works well as a team. The employees are cross-trained to cover jobs in the office except for takings x-rays. I propose that daily one employee is stationed in the call center to…
The main problem is that nurse staffing ration is affecting patient's safety. Since there is no Nurse Technicians and not enough nurses, there is so much to do and not enough resources to help me. One of my patients is complaining of severe abdominal pain and the physician is angry with me because I wasn't able to bring the equipment to her. One of the actions I would do speak to the physician and explain to her that charge nurse is currently taking care of a serious patient. In addition, I will let her know that a patient who just had surgery is experiencing severe pain and I need to check on him first. The physician needs to understand that there are not enough nurses on this shift. I will also tell her that I will help her after I check…
2-Anotonio could have a to-do-list that might help. If I had to design the list it might look like this: a) Receive report on assigned patients. b) Decide what order the patients will be seen. c) Delegate tasks to others. d) Place unique tasks on the list that need done for that day. For Antonio, that means schedule when to meet with team members so that they can be evaluated. Also as the team leader, Antonio needs to review admission and discharges for acuity and document reasons for exceeded length of stay. This should be done daily so that at the end of the week he can tally up the results and be able to prepare his monthly report.…
* Ask office staff members (gatekeeper, nurses, etc) which days are best to meet with physicians. Schedule appointments. Develop Relationships!!!!…
The perspective that I have chosen was the professional autonomy perspective. The reason I picked this one is because of the advantages and what I would look for from a physician’s office. One advantage is the convenient hours the physician’s office has. The hours would be Monday thru Thursday they are open to 8am to 9pm and Friday hours would be 8am to 6pm and Saturday hours would be 8am to 1pm. A lot of patients work till sometimes till 6pm and cannot make it to the doctors till at least 7 or 8pm, also a lot of patients might not be able to make it to the doctors till the weekend if they work late at night. Another advantage…
Employees should make two copies of the appointments for the day and place one on the physician’s desk. If there are more than one physician at the office then make sure each physician gets a copy of the appointments for the day. Once you give the physicians a copy of the appointments, take the other copy and go pull all medical records that are needed for the day and place them in a secure location where Medical Assistants can get them. Check the medical records to see if there is enough progress note space available for the physician to write notes, if not then add a new sheet. Also look over the medical records from previous visits to see if there was any lab work or treatments were ordered for the patient and see if the results are ready for the physician.…
Overlapping shifts, why this could go wrong, at the end or beginning would be the most logical way to over lap staff. However it is through the day that is the problem not early morning or a few hours after lunch. The solution needs to be something that will allow patients the time and attention he or she will need during the middle of shifts. However, having an over lap in shifts may mean the two providers on shift can team up and get all the odd end responsibilites done before leaving or coming on shift. This may free up time during that persons shift to give patients one on one…
As doctors are put into hospitals to keep patients alive and healthy, Hospital Administrators are put in hospitals to keep the facility alive and healthy. The day- to- day job of a Hospital Administrator is rigorous and detail oriented. He or she was chosen to keep the hospital operating efficiently, within budget while keeping many parties happy at the same time. Hospital Administrators work long and odd hours, possibly even coming in on call to resolve and issue they may not be able to wait. As doctors are on call for their patients’ problems; Hospital Administrators are on call for the entire hospitals problems (The Princeton Review, 2013).…

In this case, it would be the billing specialist, the doctor, communication specialist and I, to make it go more smoothly. All of us are involved in this conflict in one way or another, and need to participate together in order for all parties to be satisfied.…
When it comes to the medical records the nurse and the receptionist has different jobs to do. The nurses for example have to read what the doctor wrote and write it down on the patient’s medical record. They have to make sure what they are writing is accurate because if they make a mistake it most likely would cost them their job. One of the most important things that the nurses do daily is to check their patient’s vitals. I know my mom and all of the other nurses at her job do that every day as soon as they clock in at 7 am. Then every couple hours they do the same thing just to make sure everything is fine with the patient. Now when it comes to the receptionist their job is to know how to format the medical…
There are several reasons that making it to appointments on time is important. It effects not just the clinic itself but also effects every other department that is connected with it and the hospital as a whole. Being a Soldier I am supposed to lead by example and I can't lead if I can't even show up for any of my appointments on time. The over all effect of this action is very negative all through out the entire hospital. Clinics are very closely related to every other department in the hospital. Our mission as medical workers is to take care of any and all patients and we can not do this if our staff is constantly wasting appointment slots that the providers could be using for dependents or someone else that could actually earn the hospital money. Missing appointments can, in fact, if it happened on a large enough scale can actually shut down a hospital. The step by step process on how missing appointments can effect every part of the hospital starts at the lowest level which is the clinic. Starting with the receptionist. they get paid to check patients in and by not checking in on time, I have impaired their ability to check patients in behind me on time therefor delaying the doctors schedule for the rest of the day. After that I also impair the doctors ability to see his or her other appointments on time. Clinic slowing down and some patients then get so frustrated that they cancel their appointments without due time to fill them in with other patients that can actually make their appointments. Every appointment that is missed costs each clinic one hundred and eighty-two dollars for each clinic. Considering the amour of clinics we have in our hospital that is a very considerable amour of money. That is money that could have been earned by replacing a missed or late appointment with some other patient in need. Moving up in the chain is then specialty clinics. The reason you have to have a referral for these is because the doctors have very little time to have…
