always telling a lie VS always telling the truth
These days, there is an issue about whether people should always tell a truth. Some people strongly argue that it is very important not to tell a lie to friend or family to keep good relationship because they believe truth is bridge that connects between people. It is undeniable that truth is important, however, I believe telling a lie plays as significant role as telling a truth. It is implausible for people to tell a truth every time. I think people should know telling a lie is also sometimes beneficial. Today in this essay, I would like show certain situations in which people should tell a lie or truth in following paragraph.

First of all, I admit that it is necessary for people to tell the truth when it comes to serious matter. It is nature of human that they don’t want to face the reality that makes them feel sad or sense of desperation. However, the best way is to be aware of his or her problem and make efforts to fix it but it is hard for people to realize his or her weakness so it is friend or other people who can notice them an unpleasant truth. For example, when I was a university student, I had a closest friend called Jerry. One of his die hard habits was not doing his assignment. So as a sincere friend, I told him the truth that he will not be able to graduate the university unless he do his assignments. Even though I hurt his feeling, he could realize his serious problem and he started to do his assignment. Eventually, he could graduate the university with good credit.

On the contrary, when it is not that serious issue, people should be allowed to tell a lie to maintain good relationship between people. To give you an idea, here is my own experience. Last week, I was doing homework; suddenly my older brother came to me and asked ‘how do like my hairstyle?’ I couldn’t help but to say ‘oh, it awesome, fabulous!’ of course, it was the worst hairstyle I have even seen in my life. Still though, I didn’t want to make him feel bad so I just told him a

Lies are told every day by you, me, and even your close loved ones. Everyone lies at some point in their lives. The simple true is we all lie. While reading the “Ways We Lie” by Ericsson’s it was very clear that lies are being told more than the truth. She explains many different types of lies being told from the smallest of lies to protect the emotional state of others, to the extreme lies being told and merely ignoring the plain facts of lies that cause real pain.…

Ballinger states in the article “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth,” that lying can humiliate your friend. For example, your friend decides to take you dress shopping for her sweet sixteen dress. She tries on many dresses and finds a dress she thinks is the one. Sitting there you know the dress looks odd on her but don’t have the guts to say the truth. You sit there and smile and say, “It looks amazing on you.”…

Is it always a “good” thing to tell the truth? If a friend were to ask “does this shirt look good on me?” would someone lie and say yes just to spare the friend’s feelings? Or if someone wanted to go to the movies with a friend and the friend did not want to go, would he or she straight up say “no I don't want to go”? Or would they claim to be busy with something else just so there's no hard feelings?…

I think it is good that you shouldn't say anything at all instead of lying, but in the book, this is said to be the cruelest type of lies. Stereotypes create lies because a group of people's actions caused bad things to happen. Some lies are straightforward, and purpose is to avoid the truth all together. It's seems that the author believes lying is important in order to not hurt peoples feelings and to be successful and happy. Being dishonest is a cover-up for pain, hurt, guilt, or ignorance. I don't agree with author in something's that she says. It is true that lying may cover up pain, but the truth will always solve the problem.…

An issue that has been highly controversial regarding honesty has been whether it is ever right to lie. Some people would argue that lying is not always morally wrong. From this perspective, telling a lie can be beneficial because the truth sometimes causes more damage than a lie would. To illustrate, a person might lie about how someone looks so that they are not offended. However, others argue that it is never morally right to lie. Stephanie Ericsson, who maintains this view, argues in her essay “The Ways We Lie” that “When someone lies, someone loses” (425). According to this view, a lie always leads to someone being negatively affected. Therefore, lying is wrong because it always results in someone being harmed. In sum, the issue is whether lying is moral or immoral.…

The debate over the acceptability of lying is a complicated one. Some feel that it is morally wrong and only ever worsens a situation. Others feel that it is acceptable in cases where feelings could be hurt, or if a person’s self-esteem may be lowered. However, there are instances in which lying happens simply to avoid the consequences of a person’s actions, and most would agree that it is morally wrong. Instead of going back and forth between “lying is wrong” and “lying is okay sometimes,” a better use of our time would be learning to improve our honesty with ourselves and with the people around…

Lying to spare someone's feelings is perhaps the most innocent form of lying. When someone's friend asks them if they like their new haircut, the vast majority of people will say that they do no matter how much they dislike it. In order to tell this form of lie effectively, the most important thing to remember is to answer quickly, but not too quickly. Make sure that enough time has passed in between when they ask the question and the answer to actually appear to have considered the question. Like all forms of lying, it is important to keep it believable, and not to go overboard with praise.…

I believe honesty is the best policy but if the truth will hurt some ones feeling I think sometimes lying in small circumstance would be a better choice. We have to tell the truth because it seems more respectful to people and it is how we can gain their confidence. But sometimes, it is hard to tell the truth because it may causes difficulties and pain and, in certain circumstances, it seems more comfortable to lie or to stay quiet. Of course, in some cases, it seems normal to lie: for example, not revealing information about someone which could lead to his death. In that case, lying tends to be a moral obligation because preserving someone’s life appears morally much more important than telling the truth. But in other cases, it is hardest to know if you have to tell the truth. For example, when you are friends with a couple and you know that the husband…
