Alyssa's Short Story: The Haunted House
This is the story about how three girls disappeared inside an old, abandoned house and left one witness. I was that witness. The story starts when it was raining and my friends kept complaining about stupid stuff. I thought it was a good idea to take a walk through the woods since I do it all the time. At least it’s better than staying at home, bored out of our minds. I was hiking with my friends Alyssa, Jennifer, and Marcie. Marcie kept repeating the same aggravating sentence, “ It’s really cold and I want to go home”. As we started to walk back, I turned my head to the right and noticed a small house house in the distance.

I tried to persuade my friends to go to the house and then we would walk back. When we walked

We look at her. Startled expressions made their way on our faces.

“I saw...a ghost.” Alyssa screams. By now, the door was shut and we couldn’t get out. Marcie screams at the top of her lungs. Then Jennifer screams. Alyssa and I were the last to scream. With no success of getting help, we were all in. agreement that we need to break a window. Jennifer broke the window with a wooden pole from inside the room we were trapped in. Then we noticed the window had metal bars outside of it.

The door knob shakes and stops. Then it shakes again, but stopped. We whip our heads to look at the door. We back up and hit a wall. We heard voices. I swear we heard voices. Alyssa and Marcie leave to find where the voices came from. Five minutes go by and they haven’t come back. So Jennifer and I go to look for them. We walked downstairs, slowly looking for the two missing girls. I start to make a plan.

When I look back to tell Jennifer, I see nothing. I’m shocked. I bolted out of the house as quick as possible. When I arrived home, I sat down on my bed to process what just happened. I will never go back to that house ever

Around 3am they saw the couples window shades open so Corey started mimicking a ghost. Corey threw her head back, pointed toward the couple’s window and shrieked as loud as she could then ran away. With the barrel of her musket propped firmly on the limb of a tree, Charity took steady aim at the deer. The medium-sized buck was grazing at the edge of a thicket of wax myrtles, near where she saw the deer tracks the day before. John and Uriah were squatting in the bushes behind her. She had brought them along to help with the bleeding out of the deer, should she kill one, and to help carry it back to camp. They could then dress it out and help her prepare the meat for making jerky and so forth. She also hoped to can some of the meat so that it would last a lot longer. She was glad that Nancy had shown her how and taught her how to preserve food in glass jars- it was much better than having to dry it all into tough leather strips… Taking careful aim, Charity squeezed the trigger, while saying a quick prayer that the bullet would hit its mark. She was worried that she wasn't close enough to the deer, but if she had tried to get any closer, it would have seen her and ran off into the woods.…
