Our intake of food dramatically changes throughout the day for some individuals. Some of which contain compounds such as the infamous ingredient known as sugar. The American Beverage Association is known to regulate the intake of delicious beverages that contain mounds of dextrose, a compound that is quite literally a dangerous substance in a small grain, or more commonly known as sugar. Big name companies such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi are known to be hazardous substances to humankind with all of the sugar that the fluids contain. The American Beverage Association though known to be regulating our daily sugar intake through beverages; has really been pairing up with the big name companies that warnings have been spread about the American Beverage …show more content…
Association such as the infamously known Coca-Cola and McDonalds. Though warnings have been spread about these well-known companies, the American Beverage Association really has been saying untruthful statements such as beverages that have large quantities of sugar have no evidence that lead to health problems.
Furthermore; Sugar is a compound that inflicts negative effects on our body that are well-known by the general population, but is there more to it then we realise? Sugar doesn't only come in the familiar white grams that we are familiar with. It comes in all forms, some of which we least expect it to come in such as fruits. Fruits have the same sugar that we have familiarized ourselves with but in a different form, the fruit’s juice. When intaking fruits without the fiber and just the juice, the fluid becomes much like the sugar that we are familiar with through the effects that it has on our body. Fruits have much more nutrition when it has fiber rather than without fiber (making it similar to sugar) thus making it more healthy than without fiber.
Additionally, when it comes to being healthy, it’s not just exercise that contributes to our health but rather nutrition which plays a vital role to us. Whatmore, it’s more specifically the nutrition rather than the amount of calories that we digest. Yes, though exercise does contribute to our health, most pf our health is due to the food items that we consume rather than the amount of exercise that is performed or calories that are taken in. When it comes to nutrition, the amount of calories that you take in might come with a big helping of sugar on the side rather than the nutrition that you were looking for. One might eat a certain amount of calories every day but is that really more healthy rather than eating more calories but instead with vegetables and fruits that come with no helping dose of sugar on the side.
Action Plan “How am I going to be at that state where I am at my best?” On a day to day basis, we consume meals periodically. Though during those periodic meals, we consume three times the amount of sugar that we are supposed to have on a daily as recommended by the American Association of Family Physicians. This plan can be thwarted consistently due to the numerous ingredient names that sugar hides behind on food labels such as for example corn syrup, dextrose, and maple syrup. “How can this be implemented to better myself?” This simple fact can be implemented to better myself by choosing foods that don’t contain the numerous tags that belong to sugar but instead choosing the foods that have not gone through much processing to get the food to what it is now. Though, when eating a processed food the plan to better myself would to be check the food labels to make sure that the product does not contain much artificials and chemicals. These steps were chosen in coordination of those simple facts because on a daily basis, many go through those periodic and chronologic meals three times a day eating products that might really have many artificial items in them, thus these steps were chosen to sort of “break” those habits and instead replace those habits instead with other habits like looking at the nutrition facts more often. Though there are many foods out there that have many inorganic ingredients implemented within them, there are also many other foods that don’t have these artificial ingredients that have the same effect as the notorious sugar. Many of which could just be hiding under our noses such as delicious beverage of orange juice. Though orange juice has an image of being a healthy product, it has the same effect on the body just as sugar does due to one missing key component. Fiber. Without fiber, the product has the same negative effects as sugar does making it not much better than sugar is. To counteract this fact and implement it in a way where one starts to steer away more from the beverages that contain no fiber in favor of items that have fiber to go along with them such as an orange. These steps were chosen to make myself a better version of myself because sugar isn't exactly a nutritional product in general; and it isn’t exactly a goal to be consuming more food thinking that it’s healthy when really it’s not. To avoid consuming more sugar than needed was why these steps were chosen. Additionally, another part that can be added to my action plan to better myself can be to choose foods that are better for myself rather than sugar loaded foods more often. To instead find myself reaching, for example, a Granny Smith apple instead of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Yes, though eating food with sugar is good to do every once in awhile, I want to find myself reaching for these healthier options more often. These numerous steps can added to my “Action Plan” to better further myself and not only are they better for myself, they have more pros as well. These steps were chosen to better my nutrition and health because yes, though it is true that foods like cake and candy are good, they aren’t good for your nutrition and I want to see myself taking these steps to better myself instead of continuing to eating these junk foods more often than I probably should. These steps can also help me when it comes to helping others around me.
Helping Others Our daily routine has a lot to do with meals. We consume meals periodically throughout the day, most of which have the possibility of containing large amounts of sugar. When it comes to health, many of us want to see those around us in the best version of themselves that they can be. One way in which we can help those around us is by educating them on nutrition and what they can do to further better themselves. In this way, our loved ones stay out of harm's (sugar) way. This can also help loved ones become healthier in the way of bettering their food choices and nutrition instead of focusing on eating less and counting the amount of calories that they consume in their daily meals. Furthermore, another way in which one can take action in helping their loved ones becoming healthier is by encouraging healthier options such as choosing a simple snack of fruits over a slice of strawberry shortcake. It may be tough to steer away from those delicious desserts and snacks, but the lasting product brought from fruits and other healthy snacks is much better it gives us a healthy and gives us more energy. By doing this, not only does it encourage those around them to be healthier but it also can help them be healthy. Lastly, another option that can be used to help others in their daily lives and become healthier versions of themselves it is by “educating” others on their nutrition as well as health.
Such as by “highlighting” the effects of sugar; for example, multiple doctors worldwide state the negative effects of sugar and show how much sugar puts everyone's lives in danger. For example, in an experiment done by scientist they gave a group of 43 lab rats water with sugar and water with cocaine. Within that experiment, 40 out 43 lab rats chose the sugar water instead of the water with cocaine. This proves how with all the sugar everyone’s consuming they are becoming addicts. These ways can not only be used to help others around them, such as loved ones, to live a healthier life and take to take those steps, but they also can be used to become a healthier version of
yourself.
