December 8 2015 Final Essay: The American Flag
It was June 14, 1777 when the United States Congress created and officially announces the American flag to be represented as a symbol of Nationalism and refutation of secessionism. The United States American flag is one of most significant symbol that is hanged in front of many private properties especially in front of my porch. My family decided to purchase the American flag because it symbolizes a meaning for freedom and opportunities. During the Vietnam War, the united States have become involve in the war to promote democracy, in which my family immigrated and settle within the United States for that purpose.

In 2012, statistic shows 90 percent of incoming flags were shipped from China to the United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, calculating the production and shipments it came out to be an estimation of 3.6 million dollars. When purchasing the American flag roughly about 8 dollars it endorses and benefits the Chinese because the country is growing economically every year. I believe that it does not just create jobs for the flag production, however most of the things we buy are very much made in China or other foreign countries. Who profits the production and sales? China and the U.S companies are because shipping jobs overseas from the U.S to China benefits the U.S companies and created jobs for the Chinese economy. Everyone should realize by looking at any made product are made in foreign countries, especially China.
